Cheonan café for madeleines and apple juice: Brewers Coffee

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is a café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, Chungnam, serving French-style baked treats and drinks. I took home almond chocolate madeleines, crème brûlée madeleines, vanilla flan, and apple juice. Verdict: the sweet madeleines and refreshing apple juice were a lovely pairing.

Kiosk-ordered dakbokkeum with cheese, sausage, radish: Sijang

Sijang Dakbokkeum is a Korean restaurant inside Yesan Market (예산시장) in Chungnam serving shishito pepper chicken stew. The order was placed at a kiosk for boneless dakbokkeum with added cheese, Vienna sausage, and radish, tracked via a KakaoTalk notification while walking the market, then eaten at a plaza table with rice bought nearby for ₩1,000. Even a self-declared shishito pepper hater ended up making skewers out of the peppers.

A solid pick if you want to focus on the sushi instead of tallying up plate colors.

I took away a 6,000 won flat peach iced tea and five baked desserts, including flan, canelé, madeleines, and a butter rice-cake financier. Verdict: a reliable Cheonan stop for moist, deeply flavorful desserts—even if you do not drink coffee.

Arriving 10 minutes before opening with a 29-month-old, the family got in as the 3rd party waiting, ate yukhoe, wagyu, salmon roll and eel sushi, and fed the toddler inari sushi, egg sushi and soba. With baby chairs and ample parking, it's a solid pick for family meals with young kids.

Custom order toro belly and ricotta salmon sushi at Mikado Sushi

Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch is a flat ₩2,100-per-plate conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Seokrim-dong, Seosan. On a late weekday lunch visit, the writer added swordfish belly, bluefin tuna belly, ricotta cheese salmon sushi, and yukhoe sushi through individual post-it orders, and the freshly-made plates were far better than the ones on the rail. At Mikado Sushi, custom ordering is the answer.
