Korean barbecue near Namcheon Station, Busan: Geobugi Dongne
In short
Geobugi Dongne Busan Namcheon Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Suyeong, Busan, a one-minute walk from Namcheon Station. We ordered the ₩32,500 couple set with doenjang jjigae and cold buckwheat noodles, and loved dipping the meat in curry powder from the self-service bar. Verdict: a great-value choice for two people wanting a seriously filling barbecue meal.

Geobugi Dongne in Namcheon
Geobugi Dongne is famous as a great-value barbecue place!! I knew it existed, but there wasn't one in our neighborhood... so I could only look longingly until finally! I went.
It's near Namcheon Station, so I'd see it every time I passed through, and it was always packed at lunch and dinner. I kept wondering how good it could be to be this busy, and yes! The meat is delicious, the side dishes are self-serve, the doenjang is tasty, the restaurant is spacious—it totally makes sense that it's popular!!!
They used to provide parking support, but not anymore, xxx!! We went there too and had to turn backㅠ There are lots of paid parking lots nearby, but none had spaces, so we used Samik Parking! Its ratings were low, but we used it without any problems, hoho... I think there may also be a ₩2,000 parking lot, so if you go, choose somewhere inexpensive!
Geobugi Dongne, one minute on foot from Namcheon Station

One minute on foot from Namcheon Station!!!!! It really is close, right? It seems good for a work dinner too, since you don't have to bring your car, hehe.
A spacious interior and self-service bar

It's spacious! There are quite a lot of tables. It was still early dinner time, but there were so many guests on the other side that this is about all the table photos I could take...

The self-service bar! They sell shabu-shabu too?! I thought it was neat that they also had shabu-shabu ingredients. I prefer getting my own refills rather than asking for them, so this was really... a Namcheon-dong restaurant I loved... Be sure to grab the wasabi and curry powder too... You all know meat dipped in curry powder is delicious, right? Hohoho.
A 500g minimum first order and the couple set

The first order starts at 500g (and you can mix meats in 200g portions), while additional orders are available in 200g portions. For two people, 500–700g is plenty!!! Getting completely stuffed on meat for ₩20,000–₩30,000 is such a bargain.

We ordered the ₩32,500 couple set, ₩4,000 doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and ₩6,000 mul memil makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles in broth)! There is also a ₩5,000 table setting fee!

The couple set comes with samgyeopsal (pork belly), pork neck, hangjeongsal (pork jowl), and gabrisal (pork collar). So gorgeous.

I'm in charge of grilling the meat, hehe... so I grilled away diligently. For some reason, I can't watch someone else do it... It's not that I don't trust them; I just feel awkward sitting still during that time.... Hahahahaha. I also take pride in grilling meat, so that's probably why, haha.

I liked that mushrooms came with it too. My dining companion loves mushrooms, so I let them have them. Seriously.

That isn't a staff member ... it's me ... My dining companion took this with such an expert vibe that I burst out laughing.

I can't tell the difference between pork belly and five-layer pork, but this one I know: it's pork belly!

Nicely browned... I like grilling meat, so I also liked that Geobugi Dongne, this Namcheon-dong favorite, lets you do it yourself.

Hehe, meat with pickled onions is the best.

Let's grill the hangjeongsal too!

The hangjeongsal was tender and juicy. Back in the day, I used to think, what does hangjeongsal even taste like,, but now it feels so sad if I don't have it... It's charmingly tender.

Geobugi Dongne's meat was delicious even on its own! But definitely dip it in the curry powder...! It's even better!

We ordered doenjang jjigae too. You can't leave it out at a barbecue restaurant. I'm more of a doenjang jjigae person than a kimchi jjigae person.

There were quite a few thin slices of meat in it too, but I couldn't capture them in the photo. Delicious!!!!

The rice was pot-cooked rice too...! Ah, I think you could make sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) with it? I'm not completely sure, but there was something like a bowl of water for sungnyung on the table...! I wanted to try it, but I was too full, sob sob.

We finished refreshingly with makguksu (buckwheat noodles)!!! Hahaha. My dining companion is a noodle lover, so lately we've been eating loads of noodles to finish every meat meal,,, Love it. If you're looking for a barbecue place in Namcheon-dong, do stop by! Pork belly is in the ₩5,000 range, so with just pork belly, two people can eat meat until they burst for around ₩20,000...!!! Great-value barbecue restaurants are love...
