Sundae gukbap vs. hangover ramyeon at packed lunch: Boseung Bangi
In short
Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch is a 24-hour sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup) and hangover soup restaurant in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul. On a weekday lunch when the place was nearly full, the writer ordered the basic sundae gukbap loaded with lean meat, blood sausage and glass-noodle sausage, and compared it with the hangover ramyeon, whose broth turns thick and starchy from the noodles. A solid choice for a lunchtime hangover cure or dinner after a walk around Seokchon Lake.

Boseung Hoegwan is already a well-known Jamsil/Bangi-dong restaurant, with a clean interior and great food that makes it super popular with office workers around Jamsil haha. Let me walk you through the menu and my whole experience eating here!
Exterior and basic info

- Location: 101 Ogeum-ro, 1st floor, Songpa-gu
- Hours: Open 24 hours
- Parking available, free

I usually come here for gukbap (soup with rice) at lunch, but the gamjatang-style dishes that go well with drinks seem to be pretty popular too haha. Plus, since parking is available, it's really convenient if you're driving — there's not much parking nearby otherwise ㅠ

There's sometimes a wait at lunch, so if there's a line, just register on the tablet placed outside the entrance and wait a bit.
Inside the restaurant and how to eat it right

The weekday lunch I visited was almost completely full haha. The restaurant felt cozy overall.

On one wall there were instructions on how to enjoy Boseung's food properly! Seasoning sauce and perilla powder come standard in the soup, so keep that in mind. You can also add salted shrimp and chives to taste — I love chives so I always add them!
The side dishes

The side dishes served were chives, napa cabbage kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, and salted shrimp.

Even the apron they gave me was handed over this neatly.

How was the sundae gukbap?

I ordered the regular sundae gukbap! I like both the blood sausage and the mixed meat, so after much deliberation I always end up going with the basic sundae gukbap haha.

As mentioned earlier, the seasoning sauce comes standard, so it's plenty spicy even without ordering the 'extra spicy' version. (The spicy version is even hotter than you'd expect!)

It had a good mix of lean meat, meat-stuffed sundae, and glass-noodle sundae. The broth wasn't overly rich, just savory and clean — exactly the kind of soup you want for a hangover!
What's the hangover ramyeon about?

My friend ordered the hangover ramyeon! It comes with ramyeon noodles in the soup plus rice, so it's a hearty, filling option. There are three versions — sundae/boiled pork, intestine/osori, and hangjeongsal boiled pork — so you can pick based on your taste.

I've had the hangover ramyeon before, and the starch from the noodles makes the broth a bit thicker! It had this almost rosé-sauce quality that added even more savory depth haha. If you want a slightly more special hangover soup, I'd recommend trying this ramyeon!

This one comes loaded with plenty of mixed meat too.
When's a good time to go?
Since it's a hangover soup restaurant open 24 hours near Jamsil, a lot of guests from the nearby Sofitel come here for a late-night meal or instead of breakfast. It's great not just for lunch but for curing a hangover, and it's also a solid dinner spot after a walk around Seokchon Lake. Recommended as a good restaurant in the area!
