Songridan-gil ramen shop with chicken broth: Cocker Noodle Two

Today's post is about my visit to "Cocker Noodle Two," a well-known spot on Songridan-gil in Songpa-gu.

It's a clean, distinctive chicken-broth ramen place that's easy to drop into for lunch or dinner around Songridan-gil. I visited around 5:15pm on a weekday, and since it was right after break time, the place was quiet and I could enjoy my meal at ease. It's located slightly off the main Songridan-gil street, tucked into a residential alley.

What Cocker Noodle Two looks like inside

From the exterior to every corner inside, Cocker Noodle Two has its own rooster character posters plastered around, which was fun to look at. Judging by the signage, it seemed like a recently opened place, and maybe that's why the whole restaurant was so clean and pleasant — I liked it!

Warm sunlight was pouring in too, making it a great spot for a solo meal or a quiet bite.

One heads-up: noise from the taekwondo studio upstairs

There's one small thing worth knowing before you visit Cocker Noodle Two.

There's a taekwondo studio right above the restaurant, so you might hear kids running around or some noise from upstairs. It wasn't disruptive enough to ruin the meal, but if you're sensitive to noise, it's good to know beforehand.

Ordering at the table kiosk, with zero-sugar drinks only

At Cocker Noodle Two, you can order easily through the kiosk at every table. The main ramen menu had six options total.

Once you pick your ramen, you can choose between thick and thin noodles, and add red spicy paste if you want a kick.

★ And here's a little quirk unique to this place — no regular soda on the drink menu, only zero-sugar options!

Usually it's zero-sugar cola that shows up, but here they had Sprite Zero, which was unusual, so I ordered it right away. A surprisingly fun little detail.

Garlic stems, kkakdugi radish kimchi and a rich chicken broth

About 10 to 15 minutes after ordering, the food was neatly laid out.

The basic side dishes were seasoned garlic stems and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), and true to the Korean ramen concept, they went really well with the noodles.

★ The chicken came out slightly smoked, giving it deep flavor, and the broth had a rich, deep taste that just about anyone would like.

Is the 7,000-won dakjeon worth adding?

The ramen at Cocker Noodle Two was excellent, but honestly, this dakjeon was the real standout for me. The chicken had a subtle savory flavor and the outside was fried crispy, making it perfect as a side dish. If you're looking for a noodle spot in Songpa, I highly recommend ordering this dakjeon alongside your meal.

The free egg rice ball with every ramen

It wasn't listed on the menu, but when you order ramen, they give you an egg rice ball in a cute metal bowl as a freebie. Finishing off the ramen plus the rice ball left me really full and satisfied.

★Tips★

• When ordering ramen, choose thick or thin noodles based on your preference, and add red spicy paste if you want it spicy.
• Since an egg rice ball is included by default, the portion ends up being quite generous — keep that in mind when ordering.
• The side dish dakjeon has a uniquely crispy texture, so I definitely recommend ordering it alongside your meal.

Thanks to the clear, deep broth simmered from Korean beef bones and chicken bones, it was a meal that left me feeling really satisfied. Next time, I'm thinking of coming back to try the set menu that includes chive-braised chicken (buchu jjimdak). If anyone has tried other ramen flavors here, let me know in the comments!
