In short
Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch is a Korean restaurant in Busanjin, Busan. I had the eggplant doenjang rice bowl with roasted seaweed, kelp, and vinegar, and loved the tidy space and open kitchen. Verdict: a comforting choice for a mild, well-prepared Korean meal.

A neat Korean restaurant between Seomyeon and Jeonpo stations
I visited Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch, an easy-to-reach Korean restaurant located between Seomyeon Station and Jeonpo Station in Busan 🙂

The whole space felt clean and orderly, so it was lovely for a relaxed meal 🌳 Time to settle in and look over the menu~

On days when I’m craving Korean food, sometimes I think of a neatly prepared meal like this rather than something overly intense—and that’s when the magic happens and I find myself heading to Hyangtaek,,!! 💫💫

Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch signature Korean dishes
Its signature menu includes a range of Korean dishes: mackerel gondre rice, eggplant doenjang rice bowl, chamnamul (Korean parsley) squid rice bowl, yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef mixed rice), and more! 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
Time to spread the word: Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch is a Jeonpo-dong restaurant known for its delicious eggplant doenjang rice bowl and Korean meals near Seomyeon~ ⏲️⏲️⏲️

What did the eggplant doenjang rice bowl taste like?
The eggplant doenjang rice bowl I ordered! It arrived looking so clean and neatly arranged, making for seriously great photos too! It was topped generously with softly cooked eggplant, along with doenjang (fermented soybean paste) and scallions 🍚🍚 The eggplant in particular was so tender; with the rice, it had the best kind of soft texture, you know,,.

Roasted gim (seaweed), kelp, and vinegar were served alongside it too! 🍆🍆 The rice was great with the roasted seaweed, and I also liked being able to add kelp vinegar to suit my taste.

The eggplant pieces were pretty big too, right~? You can pull them apart along the grain! 🍆 It sat comfortably in my stomach, and it’s the sort of flavor that people of all ages can enjoy without much disagreement 💑💑

With soup and side dishes alongside the main, it made for quite a filling meal 💜 Overall, it was a clean, neatly prepared Korean spread rather than an overly strong one~~ Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch is a Korean restaurant near Seomyeon with a delicious eggplant doenjang rice bowl. Add a cola too~.~

It’s a place I’d like to visit now and then when looking for a tidy restaurant in Jeonpo-dong or craving Korean food near Seomyeon or Jeonpo stations. Next time, I’m going to order the mackerel gondre rice~ 🐟🐟

A note on weekday evening visits
Hyangtaek Jeonpo Branch is open until 20:00 on weekdays, so it would be good to keep the time in mind before visiting! ⏲️⏲️⏲️

My visit to Hyangtaek, a great Jeonpo lunch spot selling its signature mackerel gondre rice, eggplant doenjang rice bowl, chamnamul squid rice bowl, and yukhoe bibimbap, was a huge success~~ It’s such a neat place to visit when Korean food is calling. The staff were kind too, and the open kitchen was very clean 🇰🇷🇰🇷
