A new Sinchon Yangpuni braised-rib annex in Seomyeon 2beonga

Sinchon Yangpuni Galbijjim is one of my favorite spicy places in Seomyeon!! It is tucked into an alley, and since I always went outside peak hours, I thought it was my own little hidden gem—but wow, suddenly there was another one right on the first-floor corner in 2beonga!!! Of course, everyone ends up knowing a good restaurant haha. I heard about the new location and kept thinking I should go soon, then this time I had a chance to have a drink with my older and younger cousins, so I went right away.

It is close to Seomyeon subway station, so it is easy to get to—just head into the Chofilsal Pork Grill alley in 2beonga! It is also close to the BRT bus stop, and I think anyone who knows Seomyeon will know exactly where it is.

We arrived at 5:30 PM on the weekend, and the main building was already full, wow. A staff member even personally escorted us to the new building across the way hahaha.

Sinchon Yangpuni Galbijjim's menu! Ah, I love being able to see it all at a glance haha. Make a Naver reservation and you get a seafood potato pancake, and the review event even gives you cheese sauce—wow. Not doing it would be silly (= me).

Personally, using a QR code was way more convenient than a kiosk haha.

Quick banchan and a full braised-rib spread

The banchan (Korean side dishes) came out as soon as we ordered! Every item was substantial, with lots of different sides to fill your stomach properly before spicy food haha. Everyone gets one soup too!! ><

We also ordered soft drinks for my younger cousin, who could not drink because of an injury, sob. It was nice that there was such a range of drinks too haha. Not many places even have Milkis!

Another thing I loved about this Seomyeon braised-rib restaurant: the food came out quickly!!

Seafood potato pancake and deboned braised ribs

It was not ground and pan-fried—it looked like shredded potatoes had been fried into it, so you could tell at a glance how insanely crispy it was haha. They also served a soy sauce that went perfectly with the potato pancake, and there was quite a lot of seafood inside too, seriously.

It was so crispy that bits could fly while cutting it, but a staff member cut it expertly into easy-to-eat pieces with almost no splatter haha.

And that is not all! They even prepare the galbijjim (braised beef short ribs) for you, wow. They remove every bone, from the rice cakes to each piece of meat, so us princesses could just sit back and eat comfortably haha.

Level 2 heat with the house special sauce

Before digging into those beautifully prepared braised ribs, a shot of soju—★ We ordered level 2, and nobody found it too spicy; everyone ate it really well haha. Unless you are extremely sensitive to spice, I recommend level 2! I usually used to have level 3 haha.

There was seriously so much meat, and it was tender while the parts attached to the bone were nicely chewy—so deliciousㅠㅠ There really is a reason popular places are popular.

It even comes with flat glass noodles by default?! Eating them with mung bean sprouts and shredded scallions gives you that crisp-and-chewy texture all at once, which I loved.

The shredded potato pancake was tasty on its own, but dipping it into the braised ribs as the staff suggested made it even better... Ah, once it soaks up that broth, the slightly softened fried pancake has its own charm. Please try it this wayㅠㅠ

Ah, the house special sauce here is ridiculously good haha. There is a reason I refill it every time I visit. Honestly, I trust this sauce enough to order one level spicier haha.

The corn has that special sauce too? Piling it on like this makes it so delicious!

Wrapping it in vegetables was so fun too haha, and it is the kind of food that makes drinks go down dangerously easily... I had actually gone after a wedding-hall buffet, so we ate it like a second round haha and could not manage fried rice. I am writing this now and seriously regretting it.

Sinchon Yangpuni Galbijjim is always a great-value place to enjoy spicy braised ribs, whether you are there for a meal or drinks!! The new annex felt cleaner and a little brighter, so there were lots of couples on dates too haha. The staff were incredibly kind and promptly took care of everything whenever we placed an order through the kiosk, which made our drinks even more enjoyable. Seriously recommended for spicy food in Seomyeonㅠㅠ There is a reason it is a place I keep, keep, keep going back to haha.
