I came for eel with my boyfriend for lunch in Daechi-dong. It's getting chilly with fall setting in, so we treated ourselves to eel after a while. The street itself was quiet, but once we stepped inside, the place was full of customers. This restaurant near Seolleung Station has parking, and we visited with a reservation.
Operating info is at the very bottom.
4-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 2, a Daechi-dong lunch date spot

About a 4-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 2, this Daechi-dong eel rice bowl restaurant is Manmok. We visited on Saturday at 1:30pm, booked through Naver Reservation. Maybe because it was a Saturday, there were quite a few customers.
It's in the Daechi-dong hagwon (private academy) district, and with parking space right in front, it's a good spot to eat while waiting for your kid's academy class or right after it ends. Parking at Manmok near Seolleung Station fits 2 cars in front. Since that's not a lot, please check the info below for nearby parking lots.
Manmok's interior and reserved seating

The restaurant is quite spacious. Since we had a reservation, we were guided to a reserved table in a private-feeling seat.

The eel rice bowl is the main menu item. Since it had been a while, we ordered both a half portion and a whole portion of eel rice bowl for some nourishment, haha.
- Eel rice bowl (whole) ₩39,000
- Eel rice bowl (half) ₩26,000
The food came out about 10-15 minutes after ordering.
Comparing the half and whole eel rice bowl

This is the half portion eel rice bowl. It comes as a full set with warm mushroom soup, a salad with sesame dressing, steamed egg, and more.

This is the whole portion eel rice bowl. Being a whole portion, there's noticeably more eel. The set composition is the same.
Eel rice bowl (half), ₩26,000

I had the half portion and my boyfriend had the whole one. Even the half portion is filling enough. The freshly served, warm eel with just the right crispness was genuinely delicious.

The soup has a whole mushroom in it, with a subtle mushroom fragrance. The steamed egg was soft, with shrimp inside — a set meal that felt like it had real care put into it.

Eel rice bowl (whole), ₩39,900

This is Manmok's whole eel rice bowl. It's a lot of food. Looking at Naver reviews, it seems most boyfriends on dates end up ordering the whole portion. Lol.

It was so good. Ice cream is even served after the meal, and you can choose between matcha and black tea flavors.

We ate so well at this Seolleung Station lunch spot, Manmok. There were plenty of solo diners, as well as couples who'd come for a date near Seolleung Station.
