Eunpyeong café with 1L bottles and corn bread: Ward Coffee

In short

Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch is a café near Exit 2 of Gusan Station in Eunpyeong, Seoul. I ordered a 1L cold brew, apple sherbet tea, corn bread, and an English muffin; the corn bread was chewy and not overly sweet. With about three tables and no dedicated parking, it felt better for takeout or a short break than a long stay.

I visited Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch (와드커피 구산역점) while looking for a large coffee I could drink throughout the day. Its yellow exterior had caught my eye as I passed by, and since it also sells 1L bottled drinks, I stopped in while out for a walk.

Is it easy to find from Gusan Station?

It was close to Exit 2 of Gusan Station on Line 6, so I found it without getting lost. The yellow exterior and quokka character stood out. The address is Unit 2, 1F, 129 Seooreung-ro, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

There was a kiosk and a poster with recommended items outside, making it easy to look over the menu before going in.

There was another kiosk inside, where I chose the menu and ordered. When I visited on a weekday evening, quite a few customers were getting takeout.

What are the prices and options for 1L bottled coffee?

The kiosk had a range of recommended items, 1L bottled drinks, and desserts. The 1L bottled Americano was listed at ₩4,800. It caught my attention because I wanted to buy a generous amount at once and drink it over time.

There were also several kinds of ice cream on one side. I did not try any that day, but I would like to choose one next time.

Along with coffee, there were ades, teas, non-coffee drinks, and desserts.

Is it a good place to sit and take a break?

The café was small, with about three tables. It was compact and tidy, but there were not many seats, so it felt better for a quick coffee or takeout than for sitting for a long time.

There were small props and figurines throughout the café, which I looked at while waiting for my drinks.

There was also a photo printer inside. I printed one photo while waiting for my order.

How were the drinks and breads I ordered?

That day, I ordered a 1L cold brew, apple sherbet tea, corn bread, and an English muffin. I chose the cold brew instead of the Americano whose price I had checked, and I ended up ordering bread as well when I had initially planned to buy only coffee.

Was the corn bread very sweet?

The corn bread had corn kernels inside, and its dough was chewy and springy. I expected it to be sweet, but it was not overwhelmingly sweet, so it went well with coffee. I think people who like the texture of potato bread would like this too.

How was the English muffin as a light meal?

The English muffin was mild and not strongly seasoned. It was easy to eat lightly, so I thought it would be a decent option when I wanted a simple meal with coffee.

One side of the café had a space where visitors could write a note and attach it to the wall. I left one while waiting, too.
