Haeundae kids-zone restaurant with peppercorn-free carbonara: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a kids-welcome Western and pasta restaurant on the Dalmaji-gil hill in Haeundae, Busan. Dining with two 30-month-old children, the writer ordered the Bueokgan couple's dish set (51,000 won), which brought sweet pumpkin soup, grilled mushroom salad, carbonara and arugula prosciutto pizza, with baby chairs and baby tableware all provided. The children ate the carbonara happily, though asking Bueokgan to leave out the whole peppercorns in advance would have made it even easier.

Living in Busan used to be just everyday life, but now it's a place I only visit as a trip. Still, trips with the kids are always fun — while searching for somewhere to take the kids for pasta in Haeundae, I found Bueokgan Haeundae Branch.

Where is Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, and how is the parking?
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch sits on the hill along Haeundae's Dalmaji-gil. The first floor has Bueokgan Chinese and Bueokgan Bakery, and the second floor is the Bueokgan Western pasta restaurant. Since the whole building belongs to Bueokgan, parking is easy too. Having a dedicated lot was so nice — there are 4 spots above ground and plenty more underground.
As soon as we arrived in Busan from Samcheok, we went to the Paradise Hotel supercharger, then happily walked around Haeundae with the kids on my husband's favorite route — Palais de CIZ plus LCT (my husband seems more like a tourist than a Busan local at this point) — and then wondered what to eat, which is how we ended up here. It was also convenient to get to from Paradise Hotel. Though we did accidentally turn into Hyunwoo Sanho Mansion and had a rough time backing out... please don't go in there by mistake.

Is the interior nice even though Bueokgan welcomes kids?
But honestly, the interior at Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is really pretty... I came in with low expectations since it's a yes-kids-zone, but maybe because of the British vintage classic hotel concept, the color choices, furniture, and lighting are all lovely. We settled at the yellow table, which Iju and Isu (my kids) love.

Since it's a yes-kids-zone, both baby chairs and baby tableware were all ready, but our babies still need mom and dad to feed them ㅠ When will the day come that they actually use their own tableware properly?!

What comes in the 51,000 won Bueokgan couple's dish set?
The Bueokgan couple's dish set (₩51,000) includes sweet pumpkin soup, grilled mushroom salad, carbonara pasta, arugula prosciutto pizza, and 2 drinks. Extra charges apply separately.
- Sweet pumpkin soup
- Grilled mushroom salad
- Carbonara pasta
- Arugula prosciutto pizza
- 2 drinks included (extra charges separate)
You order via tablet, and the Bueokgan couple's dish set was the first thing shown at the top of the tablet menu, so we picked it. But looking back, I do regret not looking more carefully — ordering à la carte item by item might have been better. So make sure to check the individual menu items too before you order!!

Sweet pumpkin soup at Bueokgan Haeundae Branch
The sweet pumpkin soup was sweet and delicious — I ordered it hoping Iju, who usually eats soup well, would eat it, but she didn't touch it 🫠 It was sweet and thick, so my husband happily finished it all instead.

Drinks with the set: lemonade and orange juice
This Haeundae pasta spot nails even the drinks!! The lemonade and orange juice, which we just picked since they came with the set, were surprisingly good. Isu ate the orange juice well, and the lemonade had a real, tangy lemon flavor — highly recommend.

Grilled mushroom salad at Bueokgan
The grilled mushroom salad has a ton of mushrooms. The dressing seemed like a balsamic sauce, but it wasn't too salty and had a nice savory taste. Iju and Isu ate the cheese and pistachios on top well, and they managed to eat the tiny mushroom pieces too.

Everyone's in the best mood -!!

Carbonara and arugula prosciutto pizza: a tip for eating with kids
We ordered the pizza for mom and dad, and planned the carbonara for the babies — and as expected, it wasn't spicy at all and had exactly the savory flavor babies love, so they ate it well. It would have been even better if I'd asked to leave off the whole peppercorns on top when ordering :) We let the babies try a bit of the prosciutto on the pizza too, but it seems still a bit tough for them to chew. Mom and dad loved it though. The combination of arugula and wood-fired pizza... the best.

Large-table seating at Bueokgan for group gatherings
The second floor of Bueokgan Haeundae Branch also has spacious, large-party seating like this well set up, so if you book ahead, it looks like it could be great for a group dinner or gathering.

My husband had been to Bueokgan Chinese before, so I had high hopes for this Haeundae pasta spot, and coming here in person, it lived up to expectations both in taste and value — I'm thinking we should try Bueokgan Chinese next time too..! Iju and Isu ate well, and off we go-
