Gangnam burger restaurant with smoked bacon: Daily Fix

You know those days when you’re craving a handcrafted burger, right? Haha, this was exactly one of those days, so I looked around for somewhere to go and visited Daily Fix Gangnam Main Branch! It sits between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station, and it’s about a 7-minute walk from Exit 3 of either station, so getting there is pretty easy. I already love handcrafted burgers, so I was quite excited for this visit haha.

An atmosphere that looked good for solo meals or get-togethers

Once I stepped inside, it had a more distinctly international atmosphere than I expected! There was a range of seating, from tables for two to tables for larger groups. It looked like a nice spot for eating alone, but also a great setting for coming with friends and chatting over a meal.

Ordering the bacon cheeseburger and sides

There were quite a few burger choices, but I went for the signature bacon cheeseburger haha. I could have switched to a pretzel bun, but I ordered the standard bun that day! You can upgrade a set for an additional charge, but I was so curious about the chili cheese fries that I ordered them separately with a drink instead of regular fries. I also added onion rings and corn salad, so I really went for it hahaha.

The dishes started arriving one by one, and the portions already looked serious. Let’s try them one at a time!

Bacon cheeseburger with a lovely smoky aroma

First up, the bacon cheeseburger! I heard it comes with a burger patty made from Korean beef and house-made bacon prepared over 100 hours. Even the bun looked so glossy and delicious from the outside.

I quickly cut it in half, and the inside made me even hungrier hahaha. When I lifted the bun a little, there was that thick bacon right there. I took an excited bite and… wow, I loved this so much! The patty was juicy and tender, while the bacon was thick enough to give it a definite chew. Above all, I really loved how strongly the bacon’s smoky aroma and flavor came through. I’m already a bacon person, but this bacon was seriously delicious 🤍 With the juicy handcrafted burger patty and thick bacon full of smokiness together, that first bite felt extra satisfying! I could see why the bacon cheeseburger is their signature item haha.

Chili cheese fries generous enough to share

And then there were the chili cheese fries I absolutely wanted that day! But can you tell how big they are just from the photo? They’re waaaay bigger than they look!! There was honestly so much that I was taken aback as soon as they came out hahaha. I think they would be plenty as a side to share between two people—portion-wise, almost 2 to 2.5 servings.

The salty fries were piled high with chili sauce and melted cheese. The chili sauce here was really delicious! It’s their special chili sauce, and it had a familiar tomato-based flavor with an international note underneath. And with all that cheese too… please order this hahaha. A burger set with fries and a drink is great, but if you love chili sauce like I do, I’d recommend ordering this separately. It was huge and tasty, and I actually loved this item even more!

Crispy onion rings with a spicy sauce

Next, the onion rings! Why was this portion so huge too? Hahaha. A whole pile of enormous fried onion rings came out, and after the fries, I was surprised all over again.

And they were incredibly crispy! I’m the kind of person who always orders onion rings when a burger chain has them, and I liked these because the crisp texture was really there.

I dipped them in the sauce that came with them, and it was slightly spicy with a Tabasco-like flavor?! Fried food can start to feel rich after a while, but dipping it in the sauce added some heat, which was great. It tasted familiar yet slightly unusual, and it went really well with the fried food!

Corn salad that refreshed my palate

And surprisingly, the item I especially want to recommend is the corn salad. It was cool and tangy, so taking a bite while eating the burger and fried food felt like it instantly refreshed my palate! This portion was pretty generous too. If you visit as two people, one order should be enough to share. I recommend having bites of corn salad in between when you’re enjoying a big burger-and-sides meal haha.

I ordered Sprite Zero to drink. Another nice thing was that refills are available! I really don’t think carbonated drinks can be left out when you’re eating burgers and fries hahaha. Taking cool sips throughout the meal was just perfect.

Packing up the leftover sides for the next day

The side portions were so large that day that I packed up what I couldn’t finish and took it home. They were still delicious when I ate them again the next day! The onion rings were still crispy, and reheating them with the chili cheese fries made them even better haha. Since the portions are so generous, it would be nice to visit with several people and share, or pack up the leftovers to eat the next day :)

A meal with generous mains and sides

Overall, Daily Fix Gangnam Main Branch surprised me with both its flavor and portions. The burger, the main attraction, was delicious, and I was even more satisfied because every side came in such generous portions. If you visit with several people, it would be great to order multiple sides and share them. If you come alone, I think even just one burger and one side would leave you really full! And if you want to properly enjoy not only a burger but the sides too, I definitely recommend trying the chili cheese fries :)
