Today I'm introducing Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch, a jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) spot in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon! It's open until dawn so I'd recommend it for night dates or work dinners too!

Inside Jjambbong Jijon: a 66-seat hall with a top hygiene grade
Here's the exterior of Bucheon restaurant Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch! It was bigger and cleaner-looking than I expected.
At the entrance I noticed a Ministry of Food and Drug Safety certified 'Excellent Hygiene Grade' mark! You could tell they're careful about hygiene management, and seeing this certification before even eating made me feel reassured about using the place.
This is the inside of Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch! A spacious hall with a clean, stylish interior at a glance! With 66 seats total, it seems great for Bucheon family gatherings or work dinners too. They're open early morning to late, and being a good-value Chinese restaurant, apparently a lot of people come for a solo dinner too haha.

The menu at Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch includes jjijon jjamppong at ₩13,000, jjijon jjajang at ₩9,500, and jjijon jjamjjamyeon at ₩14,000. True to a Bucheon jjamppong restaurant, there were so many types of jjamppong! From regular jjamppong to rice noodle jjamppong, sujebi (hand-torn dough) jjamppong, soft tofu jjamppong rice/noodles, and more! Being able to enjoy so much variety is a plus ദ്ദി '֊' )
There were also plenty of side dishes, including tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), a must at any Chinese restaurant! They had both sticky rice sweet and sour pork and spicy Sichuan-style sweet and sour pork.

Table setting, the self-bar and unlimited rice
Every table came with the basics set out - soy sauce, vinegar, chili powder - plus danmuji (pickled radish) and jjachai, the classic sidekicks to jjajangmyeon and jjamppong!
The self-bar had a good variety of side dishes too, and there were even separate kids' dishware. Rice is unlimited as well, so I'd recommend this jjamppong place as a lunch spot in Sinjung-dong.
Jijon jjajang, 9,500 won: thick, rich black bean sauce
Ahh, the dishes have arrived (ෆ ͒•∘̬• ͒)◞ Everything looks so good.
Jjijon Jjajang (jjajangmyeon), ₩9,500. The noodles were completely covered in jjajang sauce - just looking at it, you could tell it was thick and rich! It had generous chunks of onion and other ingredients too.
The glossy jjajangmyeon had thick, dark sauce coating the noodles for a real mouth-watering look ㅠ It was salty-sweet... a taste that felt like the textbook definition of jjajangmyeon haha.
Jijon jjamppong, 13,000 won: sun-dried chili broth with scallops
Jjijon Jjamppong, ₩13,000. Apparently the jjamppong at Jjambbong Jijon, a restaurant near Bucheon City Hall Station, uses only 100% domestic sun-dried chili flakes grown through contract farming! The moment I saw the color of the broth, I just knew - this is going to be good...
Maybe because of the domestic sun-dried chili flakes, the flavor was cleanly spicy, the broth was really deep and full of flavor, plus it had a nice smoky, wok-fired kick! The noodles were soaked through with the broth too, and every slurp was packed with umami ( "´༥`" )
What I especially loved was how much seafood and meat was packed into the jjamppong at Jjambbong Jijon! Finding a scallop in there was such a nice surprise...
Sticky rice sweet and sour pork (small), 19,000 won
Sticky rice sweet and sour pork (small), ₩19,000. It came out generously piled with the pork, onions, and even sweet potato! From the white-fried batter alone, you could tell they use clean oil.
True to being sticky rice sweet and sour pork, cutting into it showed it was packed with sticky rice and pork alike. Crispy outside, chewy inside, done right... Dip the savory, nutty pork into the tangy sweet and sour sauce and it's speechless-good (*´ч ` *)

New on the menu: jjamppong dumplings
I ordered the jjamppong dumplings since they're a new item! The filling was packed full with that distinctly spicy jjamppong flavor! A more unique, different taste than regular dumplings? They went so well with the jjajangmyeon that my chopsticks kept going back for more.
The drink self-bar and the service at Jjambbong Jijon
The drink self-bar with unlimited coffee and 4 kinds of drinks! Omija (schisandra berry), plum, blue lemonade, and iced tea - drinks that both adults and kids would love ⸜( ˶'ᵕ'˶)⸝
Above it there was even a sign inviting delivery drivers to help themselves to a drink while they wait! I can practically hear the delivery drivers getting touched by this... That kind of thoughtful care made me warm up to Jjambbong Jijon even more.
There was even Febreze and a stain remover at the counter!! Having a stain remover on hand in case jjamppong broth splashes on your clothes... honestly, so surprising.
Verdict: worth it when jjamppong calls late at night in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon
I heard there was a jjamppong spot in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do that stays open late, so I went to check out Jjambbong Jijon in Sinjung-dong! It was honestly the tastiest jjamppong I've had in a while. Generous portions, great taste, and the drinks and thoughtful service all won me over! Being open until dawn also made it easy to stop by even late in the evening haha.
It's on Bucheon Rodeo Street near Bucheon City Hall Station and Sinjung-dong Station, so it's easy to get to, and Bucheon Hyundai Department Store and Bucheon E-mart are nearby too. It's right in front of Bucheon Central Park, so a walk before or after the meal sounds nice as well.
