Bucheon City Hall Chinese restaurant with chili sauce: Jjambbong Jijon
In short
Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is a 66-seat Chinese restaurant on Jungdong-ro, between Sinjung-dong and Bucheon City Hall in Gyeonggi. The order here was jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and sticky rice sweet and sour pork, tasted with the basic-spice broth, the sweet potato served alongside the pork and a homemade red pepper flake dipping sauce. The jjajangmyeon at Jjambbong Jijon was not to taste, but the fiery jjamppong broth alone is worth a second trip.

I was craving jjamppong in Bucheon, so I went to Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch. That day I ordered jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), and sticky rice sweet and sour pork. Of all of them, jjamppong was the most memorable.
How big is Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch, and where is it?

Walking in, the place was pretty spacious. It's said to seat 66, and the tables were generously spaced out, so it seemed fine even for a group visit. The staff were friendly too, so I ate comfortably without any hassle.
It's located between Sinjungdong and Bucheon City Hall, so if you're looking for jjamppong around here, it might be worth searching for good jjamppong spots near Sinjungdong.
First spoonful of the basic-spice jjamppong broth

The jjamppong finally arrived. I took a sip of the broth first, and wow... it was genuinely delicious.👍🏻👍🏻 That was my reaction from the very first sip haha. Broth is everything with jjamppong, and this one really hit the spot. It was loaded with seafood and plenty of ingredients, so it wasn't just about the broth — picking through the toppings was fun too.
You can choose your spice level, and I went with the basic option. Even the basic level was spicier than I expected. But it wasn't spicy just for the sake of it — it was a delicious kind of spicy, so I kept reaching for more broth. If you like a good hearty spicy jjamppong, I think you'd like this one.
Of everything I ate that day, jjamppong was personally my favorite. I get why Jjambbong Jijon comes up so often when people search for good jjamppong spots in Bucheon.
The sweet potato served with the sticky rice sweet and sour pork

I ordered sticky rice sweet and sour pork to go with the jjamppong. The chewy texture was nice, but honestly the sweet potato that came alongside it was surprisingly the best part. I grabbed a piece while eating the pork, and it was so good haha. It was so good that I wished there was a menu item where you could just order extra sweet potato. This is really just my personal taste though.😂
How to mix the red pepper flake dipping sauce for the pork

And here's a red pepper flake sauce I usually make myself when eating sweet and sour pork.
- Add about 3–4 spoonfuls of red pepper flakes
- Mix in a little vinegar and soy sauce at a time
- Stop once it's slightly thick — not too runny
Dipping the pork into this sauce is genuinely delicious. The spiciness of the pepper flakes combined with the tang of the vinegar cuts through the pork's richness really well. Worth trying next time you have sweet and sour pork. I really liked this combination.👍🏻
Self-serve bar: unlimited rice, side dishes and drinks

There was one more thing I personally liked about Jjambbong Jijon: the self-serve bar! You can take as many side dishes as you want, and rice is unlimited too — if you run out, you just go get more yourself.

There were several kinds of drinks available too, so I could drink as much as I wanted. While browsing the self-serve bar, I spotted a sign that warmed my heart for no reason — it said delivery drivers were welcome to help themselves too.

Seeing that kind of thing was oddly touching.🥹 It felt like they weren't just thinking about the customers but taking care of the delivery drivers too, and I really appreciated that small gesture.
Where to park at Jjambbong Jijon in Bucheon
If you're driving, you can use the building's basement parking lot. The basement lot covers 2 hours free. Surface parking covers 1 hour free. If there's no spot in the basement lot, there's a public parking lot right across the street.
So if the basement is full, don't bother circling around — just head straight to the public lot across the street. I was worried parking might be stressful, but having a backup right there made it easy.
Worth returning to when a jjamppong craving hits

Of everything I tried that day, jjamppong was clearly my favorite. It was loaded with seafood and other ingredients, and above all, the broth was delicious. Even at basic spice level it was quite hot, which was perfect for me since I like a good hearty broth.
The jjajangmyeon wasn't really to my taste, but there's no need to pretend I loved every dish — being honest, jjamppong is what I'd come back for. The staff were friendly, the self-serve bar was convenient, and parking was better than I expected.
So if I'm looking for good jjamppong near Bucheon City Hall, or craving something hearty and spicy around Sinjungdong, I'd consider coming back. Especially that broth that made me go "wow, this is really good" on the first sip — I'd want to try that again next time haha.
Bottom line: I'd go back whenever I'm craving jjamppong!👍🏻
