I heard that a brand-new ramen spot called Gyedan Ramen (계단라멘), with a rich, deep broth that's a real standout, had just opened near the SBS Broadcasting Center in Mokdong, so I hurried over. With its clean, modern interior and tidy menu lineup, it's a perfect pick for lunch or a date course, so here's a detailed introduction.
Clean, comfortable interior
The moment you step into the restaurant, a warm wood-tone interior greets you.

Bar-style single seats are neatly set up, so it looked really convenient for eating alone, and with the wide spacing between tables and even high chairs for babies, the consideration for families visiting with kids stood out.

Every seat is neatly set up with a tablet ordering kiosk, cutlery, seasonings and so on.
Gyedan Ramen menu and broth strength

- Motsu Ramen (₩12,000): Signature ramen topped with fried pork intestines (makchang)
- Gyedan Ramen (₩11,000): Basic ramen with thick flame-grilled chashu
- Chashu rice bowl (₩5,000): Rice bowl piled high with savory chashu and green onion
- Tamago rice (₩3,000): Side rice bowl full of fluffy egg strips
The signature here is tonkotsu-style ramen with a rich broth. Depending on your taste, you can choose between the basic chashu Gyedan Ramen and the ramen topped with crispy fried pork intestines (motsu). I also ordered the tamago rice, a meat rice bowl heaped with fluffy Gyedan egg strips (jidan).

The Gyedan Ramen brings together thick chashu with a wafting smoky aroma, chewy wood ear mushrooms, crisp scallions and a carefully cooked soft-boiled egg. The broth is rich yet clean with no off smells, and it soaks nicely into the noodles.
The Motsu Ramen is Gyedan Ramen's signature, topped with savory fried pork intestines that lift the flavor a notch. The combination of chewy texture and deep broth is a real treat.

If the ramen starts to feel a bit heavy while you're eating, add some spicy seasoning and the heat keeps the richness in check!!

Deep, rich broth in harmony with the toppings
As soon as the ramen I ordered arrived, the generous toppings piled high in the bowl were a feast for the eyes first.

One sip of the broth and I could taste the essence of a deep, heavy tonkotsu stock, and with plenty of scallions in there it finishes clean without any greasiness.

The flame-seared chashu in particular chews soft, and the pork intestine topping bursts with more savoriness the more you chew — it went wonderfully with the broth.
3 hours at the SBS surface lot and a post-meal walk

They give you a full 3 hours of parking, so after polishing off a bowl of ramen, a stroll through Omok Park next door is nice too. Apparently a 10-minute walk after a meal can help prevent blood sugar spikes.
Whenever you're craving a warm, carefully made bowl of ramen near SBS in Mokdong, I highly recommend stopping by!
