Sometimes when you're in Pohang, you just start craving seafood or snow crab, you know? This time I went looking for a place where I could enjoy both crab and raw fish in Pohang, and ended up at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang! It came out more generous and better value than I expected, so I was happy. Since you can get both crab and hoe (raw fish) here, it'd also be a good spot for a family meal, a gathering, or a work dinner.

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a raw fish and seafood restaurant inside Jukdo Market in Pohang. If you park at the public parking lot, they give you parking support. We paid ₩250 for parking and that was it.

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a good stop for anyone in Pohang looking for seafood and crab! I'd especially recommend it if you're going out for crab or raw fish — having both together in one set was really nice. It's located in Jukdo Market, so why not browse the market while you're at it?

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang has prices posted right at the entrance, so you can check before going in. When we arrived, the place had a clean, comfortable atmosphere to eat in. I'd recommend it for a family meal.

The vibe made it very clear we'd come for crab, which I liked. If you've come to Pohang for seafood, this kind of atmosphere naturally builds up your anticipation. The entrance and surroundings are easy to spot, too, so even first-time visitors shouldn't have trouble finding it.

True to its name, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang lets you enjoy raw fish alongside the crab — that's the special part.

When you go for crab but also feel like raw fish, or the reverse — wanting hoe but also craving some crab — having that wide range of choice was great. Especially when you're visiting with several people who might all want something different, being able to get crab and hoe together made things easy.

The restaurant has two floors. It fills up completely on weekends and holidays. If you're looking for a place to eat with family or a restaurant in Pohang where you can have both crab and raw fish, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is worth considering. It's the kind of place I think I'll come back to whenever I'm craving seafood in Pohang :)

What comes with the ₩120,000 extra-large sashimi set for 4?

What we ordered that day was Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang's extra-large sashimi set, ₩120,000. It was just right for 4 people. We sat down after ordering and the dishes started coming out one by one until the table filled up fast, haha. Starting with abalone porridge, the table was already full before the main dishes even arrived!

Corn cheese, soy-marinated crab, spicy raw fish salad — there were so many different items that just tasting them one by one started filling us up 😂

My dad loved it. But what I liked most of all was the fixed pricing ✨. Since the price is set in advance, you can order comfortably without worrying about the bill or feeling awkward.

How the sashimi and the spicy fish stew tasted

The raw fish was fresher and better than I expected. The spicy fish stew that came with it was also delicious. The broth was refreshing and the ingredients inside were substantial, making it a great way to finish the meal. Spicy but clean-tasting — even full, my spoon kept going back in… 😂

Maybe it's because Pohang is a city close to the sea, but going out for seafood or raw fish there always feels like being on a trip. If you want a proper seafood spread on a trip to Pohang, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang, a well-known spot in Jukdo Market, was solid! The fixed pricing meant I could order without worrying about cost, and everything from the raw fish to sea squirt, sea cucumber, abalone, the side dishes, crab roe rice and spicy stew came out so generously that I left satisfied.
