Seongsu Italian restaurant for anchovy carbonara: Billadeubeulleu
In short
Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is an Italian restaurant on Seoulsup 2-gil in Seongdong, Seoul, with a white-and-blue interior. Staff pour aligot cheese over the lasagna like a waterfall at the table, and burst the egg yolk into the anchovy carbonara to toss it through the pasta in front of you. Finishing with the Sicilian puttanesca rinsed away the weight of the cheese and cream, so all three plates came back empty.

Today I'm sharing a vivid review of Billadeubeulleu (빌라드블루), a Seoul Forest pasta restaurant with both a great atmosphere and great flavor.

From the exterior alone, the white and crisp blue colors blend together so well that I felt like I'd stepped into a small European eatery or a resort town.

Terrace, bar or indoor seats: ordering by seashell QR code
Inside Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, the space is decorated in a variety of ways — from a terrace-vibe outdoor area with blue-striped tablecloths, to bar seats facing the picture windows, to cozy indoor tables.
The casually scrawled blue lettering on the glass, the lush plants, and cute little seashell props all came together to make an interior that was really charming and pretty.

Once we sat down, I noticed a CatchTable QR code stuck uniquely on top of a giant seashell. Scanning it with my phone made ordering super convenient.
We ordered this Seoul Forest pasta restaurant's signature dishes: aligot cheese lasagna, anchovy carbonara, and Sicilian puttanesca pasta.

We waited excitedly for the food, admiring the neatly set cutlery and the napkins printed with the Billadeubeulleu logo.
Aligot cheese lasagna: cheese poured at your table
The first dish to arrive was the aligot cheese lasagna. The highlight of this dish is that a staff member comes right to your table and pours a generous, stretchy waterfall of cheese over the lasagna.

The visual of the pouring white cheese was absolutely stunning — I couldn't help but gasp.

Tasting it, the rich ragu sauce was packed with ground meat, delivering that heavy, savory meatiness, while the sweet-and-tart flavor of tomato filled my mouth.

Between the layers of soft lasagna sheets, the savory sauce had soaked in perfectly,

and the thick blanket of aligot cheese on top was so stretchy it kept stringing endlessly every time I lifted a forkful. The mild, creamy cheese softly wrapped around the meat sauce's boldness, and every bite delivered a rich, luxurious mouthful of flavor.

Anchovy carbonara: egg yolk mixed into the pasta tableside
Next up in this Seoul Forest pasta restaurant lineup was the anchovy carbonara. A bright yellow egg yolk sat right in the center of the powdery cheese, looking like freshly fallen snow — my mouth was watering before I'd even taken a bite.
For this pasta too, a staff member popped the yolk and mixed it thoroughly with the noodles right at our table, and as the yolk folded through the warm noodles, a rich, savory cheese aroma burst out.

A generous base of salty, deeply savory anchovy grabbed my taste buds from the very first bite.
On top of that, the thick, velvety texture of the fresh egg yolk coated the flat linguine noodles densely, so the savoriness doubled with every chew. The noodles were cooked to just the right doneness, so the bite was really satisfying.

There was no fishiness at all — just a pleasantly salty seafood flavor that fused fantastically with the heavy cream sauce, so even people who usually find carbonara too rich could scrape the plate clean.

There's no spice at all, so even little kids can eat it — making this Seoul Forest pasta restaurant a great choice for a family meal too.

Sicilian puttanesca, a clean finish to the meal
We finished the meal off with the Sicilian puttanesca pasta.

Loaded with fresh cherry tomatoes and big chunks of olive, the colors were vivid and looked incredibly appetizing. A generous heap of savory cheese sprinkled over the noodles added even more flavor.
The sweet, tangy vegetable juice released as the tomatoes slowly cooked down in the oil sauce, along with the fragrant burst of the plump olives in every bite, struck a really wonderful balance.

The salty, bright Mediterranean flavor from the capers and olives washed away the heaviness of the cheese and cream we'd had earlier, wrapping up the meal in a clean, refreshing way — it was the perfect pasta to finish on.

All three dishes had their own distinct personality and overflowing flavor, and in the end we scraped every last drop of sauce off the plates. If you want to experience that visual thrill unfolding right in front of you along with rich, high-level Italian flavors that fill your mouth, I highly recommend visiting Billadeubeulleu, this Seoul Forest pasta restaurant!
