Seongsu pasta restaurant, gnocchi fritti with aioli: Billadeubeulleu

In short

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is an Amalfi-inspired brunch bar and dining restaurant between Seoul Forest Station and Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Meeting a friend at Seoul Forest, the writer ordered polpo mambo, Sicilian puttanesca pasta and gnocchi fritti (fried gnocchi): the octopus was springy rather than tough, and the gnocchi came out crisp outside and fluffy inside, a good match for the aioli sauce. The terrace at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu allows dogs, so it works for both a Seoul Forest date and a meal with your dog.

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu: a terrace restaurant picked for a Seoul Forest date

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is an Amalfi-inspired brunch bar & dining restaurant between Seoul Forest Station and Ttukseom Station. Apparently it's a spot that moved over from Haebangchon. It'd been a while since I linked up with Minmin at Seoul Forest~! The weather was so nice I started thinking about Seongsu terrace spots, and Billadeubeulleu came to mind — a Western-style Seoul Forest restaurant with a vibe like a resort town in southern Europe.

Every dish was so tasty and so pretty, it was a great atmosphere for chatting away over a meal.

With pasta, steak, polpo mambo, avocado carpaccio and other mains, plus lasagna, squid ink risotto and gnocchi on the pasta side, anyone hunting for a Seoul Forest pasta spot might want to give this a try.

Where is Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, and where do you park?

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is near Exit 5 of Seoul Forest Station and Exit 8 of Ttukseom Station. For parking, you can use a public lot — either the Seongdong Community Sports Center public lot or the Ttukseom Retention Basin public lot.

Booking a terrace seat and the time limits

I booked ahead through Naver Reservation, where you can choose between hall tables or the outdoor terrace, so if you want that sidewalk-café feel outdoors, I'd recommend reserving in advance. You can also waitlist through Catch Table. Just a heads-up: with a reservation there may be a 90-minute limit for lunch and a 150-minute limit for dinner.

You can bring your cute pup along on the terrace, so this is a good recommendation if you're looking for a dog-friendly restaurant near Seoul Forest or in Seongsu. Villa de Blue 🌊🌊

What is the interior of Billadeubeulleu Seongsu like?

The interior of Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is gorgeous too. It has that warm, cozy feel of a little restaurant tucked away in southern Italy.

The relaxed, sentimental Mediterranean mood was something I really loved about this Seongsu pasta spot.

The three dishes ordered at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu's signature menu item is apparently the aligot cheese lasagna, where French aligot cheese is poured on like a waterfall. I went with the polpo mambo, the Sicilian pasta, and the gnocchi fritti.

Polpo mambo: Mediterranean-style octopus

Polpo mambo, the octopus dish I always order. A soft Mediterranean-style octopus dish served with romesco sauce, potatoes and peas. The octopus wasn't chewy at all — it was tender to bite through while still having that pleasant chewiness, and the flavor really came through.

The potatoes were big and the octopus was plump, with a savory, slightly salty flavor — perfect to pair with wine or a drink~!

Sicilian puttanesca pasta

This southern Italian-style tomato oil pasta, made with olives, capers, anchovies, and tomatoes, definitely had a deep flavor. It was salty with intense umami.

From the first bite, you get that bright, deep tomato flavor, and the distinctive saltiness of the olives and capers with just the right amount of spice — never heavy, and it really woke up my appetite. That was this Sicilian puttanesca pasta.

Gnocchi fritti with aioli sauce

I debated ordering the gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi, but ended up going with the gnocchi fritti! Fried gnocchi served with aioli sauce. It kind of felt like eating cheese balls.

The gnocchi had a crispier outside with a fluffy, chewy texture inside, and dipping it into the aioli sauce made it even better — soft, with that rich sauce flavor.

Dessert to finish: olive oil ice cream

The olive oil ice cream you get for writing a review. Sweet, soft ice cream with rich, fragrant olive oil on top. Make sure you save room to try the finishing dessert too. Another delicious meal today.
