Seongsu brunch restaurant with high chairs for babies: Omil Seongsu

I visited Omil Seongsu, a brunch and pasta spot in Seongsu that's great to bring a baby to. I'd wanted to go because the menu items looked so cute, and the atmosphere turned out to be comfortable enough with a baby that we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The rubber duck toy we got as a gift was so cute that my baby seemed genuinely interested in it too. Let me introduce Omil Seongsu, the Seongsu restaurant I visited with my baby.

How to find Omil Seongsu: location, parking and hours

Today's spot, Omil Seongsu, is about an 8-minute walk from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station. It's tucked into an alley in North Seongsu, an area full of Seongsu's hot spots. There's no on-site parking, so you'll need to use the Seongsu 2-ga 3-dong public parking lot, 30 seconds away on foot, or the North Seongsu private parking lot, 2 minutes away.

Omil Seongsu catches the eye with its red-brick exterior and neon sign. There's even a mirror at the entrance, which was great for a mirror shot on the way in or out 📸

The interior is decorated in a clean, sophisticated mood. Along with the tasty menu, the atmosphere was great too, so I saw a lot of people who'd come for birthday parties or dates 😊

High chair, baby dishes and a rubber duck toy at Omil Seongsu

It's honestly not easy to find a place to bring a baby to in Seongsu, which is full of hot spots, but Omil Seongsu has a baby chair and baby dishes ready, which made it much easier to eat with my baby. On top of that, they give you a rubber duck toy as a gift, and it's ridiculously cute. (The plate is even duck-shaped — they really seem committed to the duck theme.)

I hadn't managed to pack a toy before heading out, but as it happened we got a rubber duck toy, so my baby had a blast playing with it 🐤 If you want a rubber duck toy, just order the rubber duck omurice.

Omil Seongsu MENU

Omil Seongsu's signature menu items are said to be the rubber duck omurice with its cute ducks, gochujang butter pasta, sizzling hot plate cheese katsu, and buckwheat soba maki. There's a 2-person set called oh!set, so that's what we ordered. Note that you can also get a drink if you write a review!

The oh!set comes with 2 main dishes, 1 side dish, and 2 drinks. There are also extra options for each menu item, and since we wanted to taste a variety of the signature dishes, we ordered with the extra options.

Gochujang butter pasta

This is Omil Seongsu's signature pasta. I'm not usually a fan of gochujang jjigae (spicy fermented chili paste stew), so I was skeptical about gochujang in pasta — but once I tried it, it was a dish I'd highly recommend 😋 I was curious what it would taste like with gochujang in it, and it turned out way more delicious than I expected.

It's a rich, creamy pasta where the savory depth of gochujang, the nutty flavor of butter, and sous vide pork shoulder all come together. Tasting it myself, I understood why it's the signature menu.

The combination of gochujang and butter worked far better together than I expected, and with the sous vide pork shoulder added in, the flavor was even richer. Signature menu confirmed! 😋 Even the plate at Omil Seongsu was so cute.

Rubber duck omurice, the dish kids come for

This is another signature menu item, the rubber duck omurice. It's salmon fried rice wrapped in fluffy swirled egg, topped with a cute rubber duck — so cute. Since you get a free rubber duck toy when you order it, this feels like a signature dish of Omil Seongsu you can't skip!

The seasoning wasn't too strong either, so it was an omurice dish just about anyone could enjoy comfortably. The fluffy texture of the swirled egg was especially good, and the cute rubber duck on top made for cute photos too.

Buckwheat soba maki (soba noodle rolls)

This is the buckwheat soba maki we ordered as a side dish. It's made by rolling buckwheat noodles, vegetables, and Japanese-style rolled egg with Omil's special sauce in seaweed.

It was my first time trying gimbap (seaweed rice roll) made with buckwheat, and as someone who loves egg sushi, I enjoyed it because there was a generous amount of egg in it. It tasted even better with wasabi and ginger on the side.

There's an extra dash of cuteness added to the buckwheat soba maki too. I noticed later that there's a >_< face stamped on it, and it was so cute haha. Ordering the oh!set let us taste a variety of the signature dishes, which was great. It's about ₩3,000 cheaper than ordering each dish à la carte, so if you want to try several menu items, I'd recommend going with the set!

Bibs and the self-serve pickle bar

A bib was also provided, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about food splattering on clothes. At the self-serve bar, you can freely help yourself to pickles, which was convenient for getting as much as you needed.

Is Omil Seongsu worth it with a baby?

Omil Seongsu is a place where you can enjoy delicious brunch and pasta. All the menu items were tasty, the atmosphere was great, and with a baby chair and baby dishes ready, it was a Seongsu restaurant that was great to visit with a baby. Getting the cute rubber duck toy made it even more satisfying! If you're looking for a restaurant to visit with your child in Seongsu, I'd recommend Omil Seongsu.
