Pork neck and shishito peppers at a Gwangalli pork restaurant: Jukrim

In short

Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is an aged-pork charcoal barbecue restaurant one minute on foot from Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan, near Geumnyeonsan Station. On a weekend evening visit for two, the order was two servings of samgyeopsal (pork belly), one serving of pork neck, Daesun soju and Terra beer, and a staff member grilled everything — meat, mushrooms, green onion and gwarigochu (small mild green peppers) — so the table only had to sit and eat. Tender aged pork with no gamey smell and a well-ventilated dining room make Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui worth booking for a family meal or an important gathering.

Where is Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, the Gwangalli pork restaurant?

Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is an aged-pork specialty restaurant one minute on foot from Gwangalli Beach in Busan, near Geumnyeongsan Station. I heard there was a pork belly place where staff grill the meat perfectly for you, so I went to check it out.

Having staff grill the meat for you sounded like it'd make for such an easy, comfortable meal, so I went in with high expectations! Let me show you what the place is actually like!

This is Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, located a minute's walk from Gwangalli Beach. What was so great was that the staff grill the meat entirely for you! This kind of service haha, so nice.

Since it's an aged-pork specialty restaurant, I was already excited before even walking in!

Weekend evening at Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui: atmosphere and booking

The inside of Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui was clean overall and had a really nice atmosphere, befitting an upscale meat restaurant! Maybe because it was the weekend, there were a lot of customers haha. If you're planning to visit, Naver Reservation is available, so I'd recommend booking ahead!

What two people ordered: 2 pork belly, 1 pork neck

Here's the Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui menu. We visited as two people and ordered two servings of pork belly, one serving of pork neck, Daesun soju, and Terra beer!

📋 Order

Table set with bean sprouts, green onion kimchi and myeoljeot side dishes

Side dishes: bean sprouts, green onion kimchi and myeoljeot (salted anchovy sauce)

The basic side dishes that come out once you order the meat! The color on the bean sprouts alone is insane... they're seasoned nice and salty, and they go perfectly with the meat haha. Truly a look befitting a meat-killer restaurant.

And with green onion kimchi added on top, it was exactly the combo to whet your appetite! My excitement was already rising before the meat even arrived haha. And of course, no upscale meat restaurant is complete without myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce)! Couldn't resist that combo...

Daesun soju and beer on the restaurant table

And you can't have meat without a drink, right? Since we came all the way to Busan, we had to order Busan's own soju — Daesun, haha. I don't usually drink soju much, but at a nice meat place like this, soju is a must~~~ hah.

Staff-grilled pork belly and gwarigochu peppers

The pork belly and pork neck we ordered arrived. Mushrooms, green onion, and gwarigochu (shishito-style peppers) all came out together! I'd seen mushrooms and green onion plenty of times before, but I had no idea gwarigochu could be grilled too — oh, interesting.

First they wiped the grill clean of excess fat, then laid the sacred meat down piece by piece haha. Since the staff grill the meat deliciously for you, all we had to do was swallow our saliva and wait for it to cook... watching the meat sizzle away, even the waiting was a happy time haha.

How the aged pork tastes, and how well the room is ventilated

They diligently cooked it through and served it to us piece by piece haha. Wow, it was genuinely so, so delicious ㅠㅠ. It might be the best meat I've had in a while. Maybe because it's aged meat, there was zero gamey smell, and it went down chewy and tender in the mouth. This was the first time I'd had meat this soft!

Grilling meat usually leaves a strong smell, but Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui has excellent ventilation, so you can eat comfortably without worrying about smoke or smell! It all got sucked upward, which was really great.

Wasabi, myeoljeot and myeongi-namul (pickled wild garlic leaves) together

I put a nice bit of wasabi on top and ate it, dipped it in myeoljeot for a delicious bite, and wrapped it in myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves) too — all excellent! It was delicious no matter how I ate it, so I thoroughly enjoyed one combo after another and ended up eating until I was completely stuffed haha. Meat really does taste best when you eat until you're bursting.

Grilled mushrooms, green onion and gwarigochu cut into easy-to-eat pieces

The vegetables from earlier were prepped and grilled to be this easy to eat. It was my first time having grilled gwarigochu, and it was surprisingly crunchy and delicious!! These people are really geniuses at flavor...!!

Who is Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui in Gwangalli best for?

Had another really delicious meal at Jukrim in Busan today. As an Iberico specialty-cut restaurant, there's no smell and the atmosphere feels upscale, so I'd recommend it for a family meal out or for anyone with an important gathering coming up haha!
