Where to park at Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo: Kids Mom Center B3
Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo Bisan Branch is on the first floor of the Kids Mom Center in Bisan-dong, Anyang, so you can just use the building's underground parking. I parked on B3! B2 was completely full, but B3 had plenty of space.
After parking, I came up to the first floor. There was a huge, super clear sign pointing the way to Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo, so there was no chance of getting lost — just follow the arrows!
Even the exterior looked so clean, which gave me a great first impression. Now I'm even more excited!!!!
Looks like it hasn't been open long — there were a lot of congratulatory flower wreaths outside. Maybe it's also been on TV or in the media...!! Now I'm even more curious.

Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo Bisan Branch has its menu posted outside where you can browse it before going in haha. There are sets and single dishes — mackerel, crab jang, spicy pork, and more. I didn't realize it until now, but they also sell an oven gorgonzola pizza...?
Inside the restaurant: a spacious hall with no fishy smell
Time to go in! The interior of Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo Bisan Branch is really clean — there's zero fishy smell. It doesn't look at all like a place that sells grilled fish lol. There were a lot of families having a meal, and honestly, I totally get why!
Hwaddeugeuro, a grilled fish spot in Bisan-dong, Anyang!!! This is a place for a healthy meal. Since it was lunchtime, a lot of people were eating there, and the restaurant is pretty big too~!
What's at the self-bar?
Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo Bisan Branch has a self-bar so you can help yourself to more banchan (side dishes) beyond the basics, as much as you like. There's bibimbap, tteokbokki, japchae — so many good things!!! I tried a little of everything and it was all delicious, ugh. I ate until I was completely full lol. For the environment, let's all just take as much as we can finish!!
What we ordered: crab jang set plus oven mackerel set
Now let's sit down and order! First there's the boyang (health) set — this seems to be a set with a variety of fish, and it also comes with a soup included.
I picked a set meal! I wanted both mackerel and seasoned crab jang, so here's what I ordered:

- Oven Mackerel Grill set — ₩16,000
That's what I ordered. They also have grilled Atka mackerel, grilled Spanish mackerel, dried yellow corvina, and spicy pork, so pick whatever suits your taste haha.
Choosing brown rice instead of white
At Hwaddeugeuro Gan Godeungeo Bisan Branch, you can choose between white rice and brown rice. I'm more of a brown rice person than white rice, so I picked brown rice — but after ordering I noticed white rice was available at the self-bar while brown rice wasn't?? The brown rice was delicious though, so chew it well!
How does the West Sea Crammed Crab Jang set taste?
Whoa, the crab jang set really comes with a generous amount of crab!! It's so delicious — not too salty, not spicy at all, and totally a rice thief haha. They gave me tongs and scissors too, which made it easy to cut apart (not telling anyone I finished a whole bowl of brown rice and then scooped a bit more white rice on top).
Quite the spread, right? And note this is the table before the mackerel even arrived!
Oven-grilled mackerel set: plump, meaty fish
Finally, the mackerel arrived! It was a really big, plump mackerel, so I was pleased.
The mackerel wasn't salty at all and tasted amazing — the best. It's getting harder to find good grilled mackerel these days, but can you see how plump that flesh is?
You can also make your own bibimbap at the self-bar, so I left having eaten really well and really full haha.
