On a day when everyday stress had me craving a good piece of meat to heal my soul, I visited Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch, a beef restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan. Bottom line up front: the meat quality, service, side dishes, and the ridiculously generous event were all so on point that I've already promised myself a revisit soon.
Parking and the dining room at Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch
When you're eating out and parking is tight, the stress starts before you even walk in — but Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch has plenty of well-arranged parking in the building, so even new drivers don't need to worry about bringing a car. There's an underground lot, and right out front there's also a spacious public parking lot!

The exterior had a clean sign that made it easy to spot, and stepping inside, the black-and-wood interior creates a calm yet upscale mood.

There's also a good ventilation system at every table, so I could eat comfortably without worrying about that signature grilled-meat smell soaking into my clothes or dealing with smoke. It looked perfect not just for dates but also for family dinners or company gatherings — and in fact I saw a lot of group bookings for office dinners!

Raw or marinated? The half-and-half beef order
Once you sit down and order, clean basic side dishes arrive along with beautifully colored beef. One of Yangsimso's biggest draws is the wide range of menu choices — you can pick between plain raw grilled beef and sweet-savory marinated grilled beef, and for those who want to try both, there's a well-designed 'half-and-half' option.
No need to agonize over it — I highly recommend ordering the half-and-half so you can first enjoy the clean, savory flavor of the raw beef, then finish with the marinated version for extra umami.

Of course, I ordered the half-and-half too! Haha. Grilling the meat lightly over charcoal, then dipping it in salt or the restaurant's special sauce, gave me a burst of rich juices and tender texture the moment it hit my mouth — genuinely moving.

No off flavor at all, just full savory richness — it felt almost a shame to watch each piece disappear.

Self-serve bar side dishes and the beef-packed doenjang jjigae
You could tell real thought went into the side dishes served with the standard table setup at Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch. Pickled onion, seasoned greens, lettuce salad, and various sauces — all pairing perfectly with the beef. The self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant was also kept spotlessly clean, no grease at all. Tongs, scissors, and other utensils were neatly sanitized and ready, and I could freely grab whatever side dish or sauce I needed without feeling self-conscious — very satisfying.

What I especially want to praise is the basic doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). At most beef restaurants, the free stew is usually broth-heavy or skimpy, but here the stew comes in a stone pot brimming with savory broth and generously packed with beef!!!

The deeply simmered broth has a rich, spicy-savory kick that makes you polish off a bowl of rice in no time — a true rice thief. My husband, who doesn't usually eat much meat during meals, actually ended up ordering meat late into the meal too... all because of this doenjang jjigae! Haha.
Review event service per person: large sausage or ice cream
If you visit Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch, you absolutely have to join the receipt review event. The event perk was hands down the best I've seen among all the restaurants I've been to! Join the review event and you get a sausage, ice cream, or drink as a freebie — and while most places give this per table, here they give it per person?! Total jackpot...

I expected the usual small mini sausage, but I was genuinely shocked when I saw the real thing. It's a massive, plump sausage big enough to stretch across half the grill. And they give you two of them!!! Grilled over charcoal until crispy outside and juicy inside, that first bite bursts with an incredible texture.

After finishing the meat, cleaning my palate with a sweet, cool ice cream made me feel like I'd just had a full-course dinner. The yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) that also comes free was genuinely delicious too, ugh... highly recommend, and next time I want to order a big portion of yukhoe on its own.

Who should eat at Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch?
The food's taste and quality were excellent, but what stuck with me most was how kind the staff were. They looked after us attentively throughout the meal and greeted us with bright smiles, making us feel genuinely well cared for. Taste, value, kindness, and parking convenience — I'd give this place a perfect score on every front.

If you're in Gojan-dong, Ansan, and want a genuinely delicious beef meal paired with a great overall experience, I strongly recommend Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch. I'm already planning to go back again the next time I'm craving good beef!
