What Songnim Bok Jangeo Ansan City Hall Direct Store looks like inside

It was super clean and pleasant — a place where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat eel, pork belly and more. The dining room was genuinely huge, easily enough to recommend it as an eel spot near Ansan City Hall, in Gojan-dong, and as a group dinner venue.

How much is the eel buffet, and how long do you get?

You get 2 hours, high chairs are available, and the owner was really kind — all great. Looking at the menu, the all-you-can-eat is ₩29,900 per person, which is a very affordable price for people in central Ansan to enjoy grilled eel without breaking the bank, even in this rough economy.

For meal dishes, they had a good variety: eel soup, yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), galbitang (short rib soup) and more. On top of that, takeout eel is only ₩35,000 per kilogram, which makes this an easy recommendation as an eel spot near Ansan City Hall and Gojan-dong. Apparently the eel soup is simmered in-house, boiling and grinding down every part of the eel, which is why it's so rich.

What comes in the basic set and on the self-serve bar

The initial basic set comes with pork belly, eel and chicken neck. The other side dishes vary — ginger, green onion kimchi, pickled onions and more — and there's a self-serve bar on one side where you help yourself; a proper Gojan-dong pork belly and eel all-you-can-eat spot. Not just freshwater eel, but top-grade pork belly too!

All sorts of vegetables and greens, plus refills of pork belly and eel, are all there for you to grab, along with various sauces. And the unique part — there's even a self-serve zone where you can fry your own eggs!!

A meal this good near Ansan City Hall, in Gojan-dong, can't go without a drink, so we paired it with bokbunja-ju (Korean black raspberry wine). Seems like they give one bottle per table on the house — total jackpot!

How did the eel and pork belly at Songnim Bok Jangeo taste?

They pile on plenty of eel and pork belly and grill it up quickly. Even though it's all-you-can-eat, none of the eel or meat felt low quality — honestly the opposite, the quality was even better.

The eel was thick and had zero fishy taste — so, so good. Which is exactly why I'd strongly recommend this eel spot near Ansan City Hall, in Gojan-dong, for a group dinner in the area.

They bring in live eel every morning from an eel farm and direct market, prepping it fresh daily, which is why it was so fresh and delicious.

The pork belly and eel combo was great too, and I just kept eating — a genuinely delicious eel spot near Ansan City Hall in Gojan-dong. It's basically built out of all the things I love, from eel to meat, so it was truly satisfying.
