A bowl of ramen at Menya Seoul Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch

A great place to grab a filling meal while shopping at Lotte Department Store Incheon — Guwol-dong's go-to ramen spot, Menya Seoul Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch✨ It's on the basement 1F food court of Lotte Department Store Incheon, so it's easy to pop into while shopping, and it works well for solo meals, quick lunches, or even date-night dinners.

Unlike typical ramen, they have a menu with dongpo pork and jambon piled on like char siu, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a ramen with a different twist!

I was looking for somewhere to eat at Lotte Department Store Incheon and ended up at Menya Seoul! There are several restaurants gathered in the department store food court, so it's convenient for a meal while shopping, and above all the variety of ramen menus made me choose Menya Seoul this time😚 The restaurant itself has a clean, casual vibe, so it was easy to walk in without hesitation.

The set menus are well organized and not confusing at all, and you can order char siu, dongpo pork, mild broth, spicy broth, or mala broth according to your taste — I liked that!

Because there are bar-style seats, solo diners can eat pretty comfortably here. These days one of the things that quietly bothers you when eating alone is the distance to the next table or the seating vibe, but this layout actually felt convenient for having a bowl of ramen and heading out!

Menya Seoul's main menu and prices

Menya Seoul's signature ramen is the dongpo pork char siu ramen. It's a ramen topped with thick slices of dongpo pork char siu, which gives it a visual that's quite different from the usual thin char siu.

As of the current menu, the dongpo pork char siu ramen is ₩12,900 and the jambon char siu ramen is ₩10,900, and you can choose the broth — mild or spicy — depending on your taste.

In particular, the spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen is described as being about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so it should suit people who prefer a moderately spicy kick rather than something extremely hot.

What catches the eye most at Menya Seoul is definitely the dongpo pork char siu😚 The generous piece of dongpo pork piled on top of the ramen gives it a slightly different feel from typical Japanese-style ramen!

You get to enjoy the softly cooked meat together with the warm ramen broth, so it's especially good for meat lovers. Ramen alone can feel a little plain, but with the big chunk of meat on top, this bowl on its own makes for a pretty filling meal!

Sides and the sweet soy chicken rice bowl

There are also side dishes to pair with the ramen. The main ones are crispy karaage, crispy gyoza, and sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl, and if you order a set menu you can enjoy ramen, a side, and a drink together.

If you're visiting alone, a ramen single order alone is a clean choice, and if there are two of you, ordering one ramen and one side to share also seems like a good idea☺️

This is the sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl! The sauce and rice went so well together, I think kids would love it too!! It's also a combination that pairs well with spicy ramen✨

There's also a Naver review event running right now, so make sure to add toppings and enjoy it fully!

Is Menya Seoul comfortable for solo dining?

Personally, I think the advantage of a ramen shop inside a department store is definitely accessibility. You don't have to travel far while shopping — you can just eat right there at the basement food court, and since there are bar table seats, going alone doesn't feel like a big deal😊

So if you're at the department store by yourself and looking for something simple but filling, this is a solid option!
