Craving pastries in Haeundae, I searched around and found Low & Sweet Bakery, a spot word-of-mouth has crowned one of the best cafés in the area. The bread is baked in-house every morning starting at 8am, and even the coffee beans are roasted on site.

Where is Low & Sweet Bakery, and is there parking?
Low & Sweet Bakery sits on the first floor of a building right at the entrance of Haeri-dan-gil, at 1 U-dong 1-ro 38beon-gagil, Haeundae-gu, Busan. Coming out of Exit 4 of Haeundae Station and walking into the alley, it's a very short, easy walk.
If you're taking the bus, getting off at the Haeundae city rail stop puts you about a 3-minute walk away, so it's easy to find even without a car. It sits right at the entrance to Haeri-dan-gil's distinctive, atmospheric alley, so the exterior stands out immediately.
There are 2 free dedicated parking spots (No. 41 and 42) right in front of the store. Space is limited, so if it's full, you can use the paid public lot near Haeundae subway station, by the Low & Sweet roastery — and since it's public, it's cheap! For takeout, parking briefly in the dedicated spot out front (if free) makes pickup convenient.

The exterior alone sets a great mood.

Inside Low & Sweet Bakery: seating, kids and pets
Inside, Low & Sweet Bakery mixes warm wood tones with a modern feel, giving off the cozy vibe of a local European bakery. There's indoor seating as well as a well-arranged terrace. On a nice day, the terrace seats look like a great spot to enjoy.

It's an open space where both young kids and pets are welcome. A nice touch: there's a separate kids menu (milk, vanilla milk) prepared just for them.
Also worth browsing: the coffee beans sold separately.

Drinks and bakery lineup at Low & Sweet Bakery
The drink lineup includes coffee made from their own roasted beans — cortado, vanilla bean latte, the kind of drinks you'd often see in New York — plus homemade lemonade and organic teas.

Pastry-lover heaven! The case is lined with a variety of Haeundae bakery favorites baked fresh every morning — egg tarts, salt bread, financiers, canelés, cookies, pastries. With an 8am opening, it's a great place to start the day with coffee and bread.

Every seat taken: four pastries and a vanilla bean latte to go
I ordered a vanilla bean latte + egg tart + salt bread + chocolate financier + pistachio madeleine.

Since the place was full, I went with takeout! Nice touch — they even threw in a paper wet wipe.

Vanilla bean latte: how it tastes
The vanilla bean latte uses top-quality vanilla beans. Since it's made with their own homemade vanilla syrup rather than a store-bought artificial one, you get the deep, subtle flavor of real vanilla bean, strong and clear.
The nutty, slightly bitter flavor of their house-blended beans pairs nicely with the smooth milk and sweet vanilla notes — smooth, moderately sweet, and clean on the finish. Perfect alongside a pastry!!

Egg tart
The egg tart lives up to the reputation of an egg tart spot near Haeundae Station. The pastry layers are thin and stay flaky, shattering with each bite, while the filling inside is moist and soft like pudding. Sweet and clean with none of that eggy funk — gone in seconds!

Salt bread
Crisp outside, chewy inside — this salt bread has a generously hollowed-out butter cave, giving it a rich buttery flavor.
The salty pearl salt on the surface pairs well with the buttery richness, and it keeps a properly buttery texture with no sogginess — a well-executed, fundamentals-first salt bread.

Chocolate financier
A dense, chewy chocolate financier. Rather than being just overly sweet, it carries a bittersweet cacao depth that gives it a more sophisticated flavor. Chewy on the outside and densely packed inside, it pairs perfectly with coffee.

Pistachio madeleine
The pistachio madeleine keeps that moist madeleine texture with no dryness, and the nutty flavor comes from real pistachios, not artificial flavoring — the best! Overall, both the pastries and the coffee here are excellent.
