Dry-aged pork for two at Gwang-anmok Haeundae, Busan Korean BBQ

In short

Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch is a dry-aged pork BBQ restaurant on Gunam-ro, a 4-minute walk from Haeundae Station Exit 5 in Busan. Visiting with her boyfriend, the writer ordered the A Set for 57,000 won (370g dry-aged pork neck, 130g pork belly, butter-grilled vegetables), grilled tableside by staff, and found the pork neck juicy rather than dry. A solid pick for two people who want to alternate between pork neck and pork belly.

It's on Gunam-ro in Haeundae so it's easy to get to, and most of all I was curious to try dry-aged pork neck and belly here!

Second-floor atmosphere and waiting

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and there can be waiting at lunch or dinner time, so I'd recommend booking ahead or putting your name on Catch Table

Wide, clean view of the dining hall

The space has a slightly dim, spacious, clean vibe haha. Right as you walk in there's an open kitchen where you can see them grilling meat

There are a lot of tables too, so table turnover seemed pretty fast!

I visited with my boyfriend, so we ordered one A Set for 57,000 won haha

A Set with dry-aged pork neck and pork belly

The A Set is a set for two, made up of 370g of dry-aged pork neck + 130g of pork belly + butter-grilled vegetables. Perfect for me since I wanted to try both pork neck and pork belly haha

What's special about Gwang-anmok is that instead of the usual aging method, they use dry-aging, apparently! It's a method where moisture is drawn out of the meat while it ages, adding to the flavor, and maybe that's why it felt a bit different from pork at a regular BBQ place!

The table setting and self-serve bar

This is how the table setting comes out! There was so much you could pair with the meat, I loved it haha

Dry-aged pork neck taste — not dry at all

Dry-aged pork neck grilling on the grill

Gwang-anmok apparently is confident enough in its pork neck to basically call itself a pork-neck specialist, and maybe that's why the A Set leans heavier on pork neck lol. I used to think pork neck could end up dry, but,, it was just so tender.. so tender and packed with juice inside that I wondered if I was eating beef lol

The meat is grilled by staff, so I didn't have to keep flipping it myself, and it arrived right at the perfect moment to eat — seems like it'd be easy and comfortable whether you're on a date or with friends :)

And of course, the pork belly! Great for alternating between the clean taste of the pork neck and the savory richness of the belly

Personally when I eat meat I sometimes get a bit tired if I stick to just one kind, but eating pork neck + belly together like this meant I could keep enjoying it all the way through haha

Plus butter-grilled vegetables

Loved that butter-grilled vegetables were included too haha. Eating some vegetables here and there cuts the richness and goes great alongside the meat! Such a good set for two people to share 🤍

Bathroom sink with mouthwash provided

Even the bathroom had mouthwash ready, such a nice touch haha. I think I left feeling really satisfied with the meal
