Apgujeong brunch café date for two: galette and lasagna, Le Bon Goûter

In short

Le Bon Goûter is a French brunch café on Eonju-ro 164-gil, between Apgujeong Rodeo and Dosan Park in Gangnam, Seoul. Visiting as a couple, the writer ordered one jambon mushroom galette and one lasagna and traded plates, with an iced americano and an orange juice alongside. The light galette and the rich, filling lasagna balanced each other, making Le Bon Goûter a good fit for a slow date brunch.

When you're on a date in Apgujeong, taste matters, but so does finding somewhere with a good atmosphere, right?

The atmosphere inside Le Bon Goûter in Apgujeong

This time I was looking for a place where we could eat something not too heavy and just talk slowly, and that's how I ended up at Le Bon Goûter.

It's known for a pretty terrace, and the menu ranges from galettes to lasagna, pasta, and crepes, so it's a great pick for a brunch or a light lunch date.

Where is Le Bon Goûter, and what are its hours?

Le Bon Goûter (르봉구떼), a slice of French brunch mood in Apgujeong, is located at 34-2 Eonju-ro 164-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 1F. It's open daily from 9am to 6pm.

It's an easy stroll from Apgujeong Rodeo and close to Dosan Park too, so it works well as an Apgujeong date course before or after the meal. After eating I walked over to Dosan Park, and it made for the perfect weekend date route haha.

Since it opens early, it's just as good for morning brunch as it is for a late lunch.

Terrace seats and green plants: the mood at Le Bon Goûter

The moment I arrived, I understood exactly why I'd picked Le Bon Goûter. The lush greenery, terrace seating, and wooden furniture came together so naturally that even in the middle of Seoul, it felt like a little getaway.

It's a comfortable space for sitting and talking, so it should suit anyone looking for an Apgujeong date spot.

What two people ordered: lasagna and jambon mushroom galette

What I ordered: iced americano and orange juice, plus lasagna and jambon mushroom galette.

You can't talk about Le Bon Goûter without the galette, so we ordered the jambon mushroom galette along with a hearty lasagna. The drinks came out first — the coffee used nutty beans, exactly my style!

The drinks were plated so nicely it put me in a good mood.

If you're visiting as a couple, I'd recommend each picking a different dish and sharing.

What does the jambon mushroom galette taste like?

First up, the jambon mushroom galette.

Le Bon Goûter's jambon mushroom galette

A galette (French buckwheat crepe) is made by thinly cooking buckwheat batter, and it has a charm all its own compared to the pasta or sandwiches I usually eat.

Thinly cooked buckwheat batter galette

With jambon and mushrooms on the thin, clean buckwheat base, the first bite was light rather than heavy.

The savory mushrooms went well with the salty jambon, and eating it together with the buckwheat batter made it a perfect brunch dish. It was a great choice for when you want something clean and light but still a bit special, rather than an overly strong flavor.

How filling is the lasagna at Le Bon Goûter?

And personally, the more filling dish was the lasagna. Scooping up the layers of pasta and sauce together, you really get the rich flavor of the sauce.

Rather than being overly seasoned, the flavor was savory and smooth, which balanced well when ordered alongside the galette.

The galette alone might feel a bit light, but the lasagna filled that gap, and the two dishes turned out to complement each other better than expected.

Table with the galette and lasagna placed together

Rather than each of us finishing one dish, alternating between a bite of galette and a bite of lasagna kept things from getting repetitive all the way through.

Is Le Bon Goûter a good spot for a first date or couple brunch?

Le Bon Goûter suits days when you want to enjoy a slow brunch rather than eat quickly and leave. On a nice day, the terrace is lovely, and the indoor space is warm and comfortable too, so I'd recommend it for a blind date or couple date!

Apgujeong also has plenty of pretty cafés and good restaurants nearby, so it's another plus that you can build out a date course with a café or shopping stop afterward.

  • If you can only pick one signature dish — the jambon mushroom galette
  • If you want something more filling — the lasagna
  • If there are two of you, order one of each and alternate bites

For a day when you want a slightly different French brunch without giving up on atmosphere — if you're looking for a good Apgujeong date spot, I'd say take your time and enjoy brunch at Le Bon Goûter :)
