Jung-gu café with Fritz Hansen furniture and warm coffee: Lemangdoré

In short

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a bakery café in Jung-gu, Seoul, spread across three floors. After a walk along Cheonggyecheon Stream, I explored its Fritz Hansen-furnished third floor and had a hot Coffee of the Day and vanilla latte. A calm stop for coffee and dessert after a stroll.

While walking along Cheonggyecheon Stream, I ended up visiting Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun in Mugyo-dong. It is a café with a spacious setting across the first through third floors, made even more comfortable and atmospheric with Fritz Hansen furniture.

The atmosphere from the first to third floors

At Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun, you can use the café from the first through third floors.

The first floor has the ordering counter and a few tables.

After ordering on the first floor and receiving my pager, I headed upstairs.

The second floor is set up with an atmosphere that is great for visiting alone, having a cup of tea, and studying.

And then~ when you go up to the third floor, a showroom-like space filled with Fritz Hansen furniture unfolds before you.

Furniture and lighting from the world-renowned furniture brand Fritz Hansen are placed throughout the space, so it felt like touring a café and furniture showroom at the same time.

Third floor with Fritz Hansen furniture and lighting

Fritz Hansen's clean, sophisticated design suited Lemangdoré's stylish bakery-café atmosphere beautifully. Rather than feeling overly decorated, the furniture itself seemed to create the mood of the space.

It felt calmer than the first and second floors, so I thought it would be nice for a date, a chat, or simply enjoying coffee at leisure. It was especially fun to look around at the Fritz Hansen furniture, lighting, and little objects~

It is a place for drinking coffee, but I loved how every chair and table seemed to shape the atmosphere. It made me think again that when looking for a pretty café, it is not just the interior that matters, but also the furniture and objects it uses—and how comfortable they are to sit in.

A variety of bakery desserts

Personally, when I visit a café, it is important to me not only that the drinks are good but also that there is a good range of desserts to eat alongside them. Lemangdoré was a place I really liked because it had such a variety of desserts.

Hot Coffee of the Day and vanilla latte

Hot coffee and vanilla latte

I ordered the Coffee of the Day and vanilla latte hot, and perhaps because a chilly breeze was gently blowing, hot coffee suited the moment quite well.

The latte art was so pretty, and I think it went beautifully with the trees outside the window. Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a lovely place near Cheonggyecheon Stream for a date—I would like to return once the ginkgo trees turn yellow.

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun was a stylish space where you can enjoy coffee and baked goods while strolling along Cheonggyecheon Stream, and also experience the Fritz Hansen furniture I had always wanted to try.
