Why is it that every weekend evening I start craving something spicy and smoky for a late-night snack? This time I picked up the signature charcoal-grilled mixed platter from Gobuni Gopchang Hanam Misa Branch, a place I already visit often, and enjoyed it comfortably at home. Gobuni Gopchang, located close to Misa Station, offers takeout, delivery, and dine-in service. Since I visited during weekend evening hours, the dining room was packed with customers!

My mouth was watering the whole way home. The subtle charcoal aroma was incredible! The container was sealed so carefully that I didn't have to worry about sauce or oil spilling on the way home :) I felt this would be perfect for anyone looking for Misa gopchang takeout for a home party or a solo late-night drink.

I ordered the charcoal-grilled mixed platter for two, ₩34,000. This menu includes gopchang, odolppyeo (cartilage), and makchang, and the smoky aroma plus generous portion really stood out! This is Gobuni Gopchang's signature main dish, letting you try three cuts at once — perfect for someone indecisive like me :)

The moment I opened the lid, the blackened charcoal marks and the savory aroma of the red special sauce hit my nose right away! Unlike regular vegetable gopchang stir-fried on a griddle, this charcoal-grilled version had smoky char that cleanly cut through any gamey smell and brought out a deep, rich flavor!

The chewy gopchang, the nutty and satisfying makchang, and the crunchy odolppyeo all came together beautifully with the spicy-sweet sauce.

How was the gamey smell?

There was absolutely zero trace of the gamey or off smell that gopchang sometimes has, so even sensitive eaters can enjoy it without worry. The more you chew, the more the nutty fat flavor of the gopchang itself blends with the smoky special sauce, filling your mouth with rich flavor.

A full spread with chive salad and wasabi mayonnaise

They generously included chive salad — essential with gopchang — along with corn mayo, wasabi mayonnaise, spicy sauce, and lettuce wraps, so I could keep eating without getting tired of it.

The first thing I tried was dipping it in the wasabi mayonnaise sauce, and the nutty and spicy flavors burst in my mouth. It was impressive how the charcoal grilling gave it real fire flavor, with a grilled aroma coming through with every bite.

Wrapping the gopchang, makchang, and odolppyeo in lettuce with the tangy chive salad on top made the perfect combination. The sauce wasn't overpowering, just spicy enough, making it ideal as a drinking snack or late-night meal. Even taken home as takeout, it kept the same quality as freshly grilled at the restaurant, which made it even more satisfying.
