Weekday lunch sashimi course with Gwangan Bridge view, Busan
In short
Gwanganda Jjji is a raw fish restaurant on the 6th floor of Sanbada Hoetown in Gwangalli, Busan, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Gwangan Bridge. A weekday lunch order of the dajji-hanjang (set course) for two, priced at ₩110,000, brought cream shrimp, buttered abalone, marinated crab, raw shrimp, abalone sashimi, live octopus, main sashimi, fried shrimp and crab, spicy crab stew, braised fish, and abalone porridge in sequence. It's the kind of course that comes to mind when you want a proper full meal instead of just a plate of sashimi.

A ₩110,000 spread eaten while looking at Gwangan Bridge — the dajji-hanjang course for two at Gwanganda Jjji.

On a nice weekday afternoon, after visiting Gwangalli Waterside Park, I wanted a proper, well-set-out lunch, so I stopped by Gwanganda Jjji.

I wanted a course with all sorts of dishes served alongside, rather than a place that just brings out raw fish.

A seat with Gwangan Bridge beyond the floor-to-ceiling window
I arrived a bit before lunchtime, so I could sit wherever I liked. Through the floor-to-ceiling window, Gwangan Bridge came into full view,

and the sea sparkled with light too — the seat alone was already great. What I ordered was the dajji-hanjang (set course) for two, ₩110,000.

That's ₩55,000 per person, but once the table started filling up, it felt like a lot more than the price suggested.

I kept being surprised with every dish that came out

Not long after ordering, the dishes started coming out one by one. Warm dishes came hot, and the seafood came fresh, right away.

Usually at a raw fish restaurant, you focus on the main sashimi and take just a few bites of everything else — but here it's different.

Each dish felt like a main dish rather than a side. It was fun to watch as the table kept filling up with more food.

From cream shrimp to buttered abalone
First came the crispy cream shrimp.

The batter was crispy and the inside soft, so it was delicious right from the start. The buttered abalone came out warm too, so I ate it right away.

There was marinated crab, raw shrimp, abalone sashimi, and live octopus too — a wide variety of seafood.

Picking at each dish one by one, I'd already eaten quite a lot before the sashimi even arrived.

The main sashimi was, of course, great
When the main sashimi arrived, the table felt even fuller. Several kinds of sashimi came out chewy, and the slices weren't thin either.

There was plain sushi rice served alongside too, so I tried topping it with a piece of sashimi like sushi — it tasted different from eating the sashimi plain.
Maybe because I was eating it while looking at the sea, it tasted even better. With Gwangan Bridge in view, even a weekday lunch felt a little like a trip.

The fried shrimp and crab, straight out of the fryer
The fried shrimp and fried crab came out piping hot too.

Fried food is best eaten hot, right? Even though I was already pretty full, seeing it come out crispy made me reach for it again. I kept picking at it right to the end.

Spicy crab stew, braised fish, and abalone porridge to finish
I thought this would be the end, but more finishing dishes came out.

The course continued with spicy crab stew, braised fish, and abalone porridge.
After the cold sashimi and seafood, finishing with warm food at the end made the whole meal feel properly complete.

Especially after the abalone porridge, I was truly full. Thinking of it as a ₩55,000 course per person, the variety and the number of warm dishes made the whole set-up feel solid. Gwanganda Jjji felt less like a place you go just for sashimi and more like a place where you eat a whole range of dishes from start to finish.

How was the weekday lunch sashimi course?
Cream shrimp, buttered abalone, marinated crab, seafood, main sashimi, fried food, crab stew, braised fish, abalone porridge — with all of it coming out in sequence, nothing felt lacking. Eating it on a nice day with Gwangan Bridge beyond the floor-to-ceiling window made the seat just as good.

If you're in Gwangalli and want a meal that's a bit more properly put together than a plate of sashimi, this is the kind of place that comes to mind. I think I'll think of it again the next time I have a lunch appointment around Gwangalli.
