I suddenly wanted brunch and went looking for a place open early, and that's how I found this Gwangalli favorite, Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch. Walking over, I realized it's right where all the hip spots in Minrak-dong are gathered!?

A Blue Ribbon-listed favorite you can eat at from 8am ✔️✔️ Such a happy choice. Famous Benny, this Gwangalli brunch café, is set in a converted house serving Australian-style brunch, and I loved that there were so many different seating options.

There was also a wide range of drinks, plus various brunch and dessert menu items at this Gwangalli brunch café, Famous Benny.

1st floor indoor seats, terrace seats, and 2nd floor window seats

There's terrace seating too, so with the weather cooling down like now, sipping coffee in the breeze would be great haha.

These are the clean-vibe 1st floor indoor seats. I sat here for a bit while waiting, and the sofa was sturdy enough that it seemed like a comfortable spot to sit alone and enjoy a coffee too!

So much seating on the 2nd floor too, right? Looks like it'd be great for groups. I picked a seat looking out the window! Since I did the 8am opening rush, it was nice and relaxed there.

How were the long black and americano — how was the coffee?

They bring the drinks and brunch right to your table! The coffee had a nice, moderate acidity. My friend who came along is a barista, and even she gave the coffee her stamp of approval. Rich and bold — perfect for the morning!

How was the bacon scramble toast

Scrambled eggs, bacon, and rye bread! The plating was so pretty that it was fun just to look at. Looks so good, yum ㅠ

I piled all the toppings onto the bread like this, turning it into a sort of burger, and it was so good. The softness of the scramble and the savoriness of the bacon made for something light and easy to eat in the morning!

Is the acai bowl enough for a meal?

My friend ordered the acai bowl to eat something light, and it was basically a textbook-perfect acai bowl.

Bananas, nuts, peanut sauce, and more toppings piled on, which made it fun to eat.

The thick, dense acai bowl was more than enough for a full meal! I think for mornings, something light like an acai bowl that also helps keep blood sugar steady is better than eating too heavy :> There aren't many brunch cafés that sell acai bowls, so I was so happy to spot it on the menu at this Gwangalli favorite, Famous Benny (?)

Pets are welcome too

This Gwangalli brunch café, Famous Benny, is pet-friendly, so I even got to meet a cute dog haha. Such a well-behaved and adorable Maltipoo... I want to see it again ㅠ I wanted to take it home with me (?)

Famous Benny, this Gwangalli brunch café, welcomes pets and is a great spot to grab a light coffee before work! It's been a while since I went out this early, but it seemed like the kind of place travelers stop by for coffee before check-in, or locals visit often to enjoy brunch. The space is hip and pretty, and there's such a variety of brunch dishes that I think I'll be coming back often!
