Haeundae Chinese restaurant with 90 minutes free parking: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the Subyeon Best Pork Gukbap building at 51 Marine City 3-ro in Haeundae, Busan, looking out over Dongbaekseom island. Over a weekday lunch with a friend, the writer ordered mala cilantro jjamppong bap (spicy seafood noodle soup over rice), seafood jjamppong bap and a small black vinegar pork tenderloin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and got 1 hour 30 minutes of free parking at The Sharp Ardilis mall lot. Between the panorama window seats and the clean, non-greasy seasoning, Bueokgan Chinese works just as well for a catch-up with a friend as for a family meal in Haeundae.

It had been a while since I planned a proper lunch with a friend somewhere with a nice atmosphere, and while looking around I found a place that promised a panorama ocean view instead of the usual Chinese-restaurant vibe. Today's spot: Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점), a well-known Marine City restaurant.
Instead of the greasy-air, noisy-hall feel you'd normally associate with a Chinese restaurant, this place feels more like a chic European furniture showroom 👀 — I'd had my eye on it for a while. It's built up quite a reputation as a Haeundae lunch spot where you can eat while looking out at Dongbaekseom, so I went in with high expectations.

Where is Bueokgan Chinese in Marine City, and how does the free parking work?
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Suybeon Best Pork Gukbap building. There's a dedicated elevator between two well-known Marine City restaurants, Pungwonjang Miyeokguk Jeongchan and Suybeon Best Pork Gukbap.
The coastal walking path is right out front, so it's an easy stop to pair with a stroll before or after eating — a perfect fit for a Dongbaekseom food-and-walk course. You also get 1.5 hours of free parking at The Sharp Ardilis mall lot, across from Hanwha Resort. Parking around Marine City can be surprisingly tricky, so having that much free time was a real comfort.
- Hours: Daily 11:00 – 22:00
- Break time: 15:30 – 17:00

A 330 m² dining room that looks like a furniture gallery
The moment I stepped inside I couldn't help but be impressed by how spacious it was — about 330m² (100 pyeong). The interior was genuinely unique too: soft-glowing George Nelson bubble lamps and high-end furniture scattered throughout made it feel less like a Chinese restaurant and more like a stylish furniture gallery or brunch café!

Window seats with a panorama of Dongbaekseom island
The hall's window seats in particular are the prime spot for a panoramic ocean view straight out to Dongbaekseom. We visited during the day, so the light was gorgeous and the view was out of this world 🥹 During the day it's great for sea views bathed in natural light; in the evening the soft lighting makes it just as good for a date-night atmosphere.

Private rooms and what Bueokgan Chinese has ready for kids
Beyond the hall seating, there are also well-equipped private rooms if you want a bit more privacy.
- A large room with that distinctive Chinese-restaurant feel, built for bigger groups
- A classic round-table room, good for a cozy chat
Baby chairs, kids' tableware, and dedicated kids' utensils were all carefully provided, which makes this a great choice for a family meal too.

The menu and what we ordered for lunch
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch has a lot of dishes that take traditional Chinese cooking techniques and add a thoughtful, sensory touch. Apparently the most popular signature dish is the suran ogyeopgyeol ganjajang — jajangmyeon topped with a poached egg that bursts open, and five-layer pork belly!
For fried dishes, instead of frying in advance, they fry to order so the crispy-outside, tender-inside texture really comes through, and they aim for seasoning that's clean rather than sharp or greasy — which had me pretty excited.

After we ordered and chatted for a bit, a tidy set of banchan arrived. Jjajangmyeon staples — jjasjai (sweet black bean pickle) and danmuji (pickled radish)!
- Mala gochu jjamppong bap (spicy jjamppong noodle soup with cilantro, over rice)
- Seafood jjamppong bap
- Black vinegar pork tenderloin tangsuyuk (small)
The signature suran ogyeopgyeol ganjajang had me curious, but today we were craving something spicy and hearty, so we went with the two jjamppong bap dishes plus the signature tangsuyuk 😋

How does the mala cilantro jjamppong bap taste?
The second the mala gochu jjamppong bap hit the table, that sharp mala aroma and fresh cilantro scent spread everywhere. If you love cilantro, one look at this and you'll be grinning ear to ear (haha). I took a spoonful of the broth first — that tongue-tingling mala heat blended perfectly with jjamppong's signature deep, smoky flavor!

Seafood jjamppong bap: a clear, refreshing broth
The seafood jjamppong bap looked clean and no-frills from the start. One spoonful of broth in, and instead of a punchy MSG-heavy flavor, there was an incredible savoriness drawn straight from fresh seafood and vegetables! No heaviness at all — the broth was so clear and refreshing it genuinely hit the spot 😵💫
There was plenty of seafood packed in too — squid, shrimp — and none of it was overcooked or rubbery; it had that just-cooked, springy bite. We ordered it with rice instead of noodles, and the cool seafood broth soaked into every grain of rice, making it a really filling lunch!

Black vinegar pork tenderloin tangsuyuk (small): crisp to the last bite
Instead of the usual just-sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk sauce, this one came with a refined black vinegar sauce, coated thin and even, so even with the sauce on it stayed crispy all the way through with no sogginess! The acidity wasn't too sharp — just gently sweet — and it cut right through the oiliness of the fried batter.
Chinese food often leaves your mouth feeling greasy or your stomach heavy afterward, but overall the seasoning here wasn't overly aggressive, and the clean, natural savoriness of the ingredients came through, so I enjoyed every bite right to the end without getting sick of it! Eating while looking at the sea somehow made the food taste twice as good 😋

Is Bueokgan Chinese in Haeundae worth it? Final verdict
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch let us enjoy more than just a meal — the stylish furniture interior and the wide-open sea view came fully alive too. I'd recommend this Haeundae restaurant not just for lunch with a friend, but for family gatherings or anyone looking for a polished, proper Dongbaekseom restaurant — satisfying on both atmosphere and taste. Next time I want to come for dinner and try the cooked dishes with some gaoliang liquor!
