I'm Nyaong-idayong ⋰˚★
Today I visited a gamjatang (pork bone stew) place near my house — apparently it just opened on Saturday, 9/5! If somewhere new pops up, you've gotta run right over haha. Let me introduce Samsol Gamjatang, a great spot for a bit of body-nourishing whether you're eating solo or with family, with meat so tender it falls right off the bone :)

Where is Samsol Gamjatang Main Branch, and can you park?
Samsol Gamjatang Main Branch is at 1464-7 Sangin-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, near Dowon Market. It's open daily from 10:00 to 24:00, with last order at 23:30.
- 📍 1464-7 Sangin-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, South Korea
- ⏰ Daily 10:00–24:00 / Last order 23:30
- 🅿️ Parking available right in front

The place is near Dowon Market, and you can park right in front — but the space is small, so it's more convenient to park elsewhere or just walk over.

Inside Samsol Gamjatang: wood-toned seating that suits solo diners
Inside, Samsol Gamjatang Main Branch is spacious and clean with wood tones throughout. It's a tidy atmosphere that's nice for a family meal, but also not at all awkward if you're eating alone —

Samsol Gamjatang menu and prices
You order via tablet ••
Ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk (napa cabbage bone soup) ₩10,000 Yangji seolleongtang (beef brisket soup) ₩10,000 Western-style pork cutlet ₩12,000 Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap ₩14,000 Yukjeon mul-naengmyeon ₩10,000 Yukjeon bibim-naengmyeon ₩11,000 ▪️Gamjatang (small/large) ₩32,000 / ₩45,000 ▪️Charcoal-grilled seasoned bone ribs (small/large) ₩34,000 / ₩47,000 ▪️Charcoal-grilled rosé bone ribs (small/large) ₩35,000 / ₩47,000

Open the compartment under the table and it has spoons, wet wipes, tissues, and even an apron all in one place! Nice not having to go get an apron separately —

What comes with the meal: side dishes and the self-serve bar
The basic side dishes were peppers, seokbakji (radish kimchi), kimchi, and wasabi sauce. They gave a separate bowl for scooping out the ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk, but it looked like it was meant for rice, so it wasn't that convenient to use. There are wide, low bowls at the self-serve bar, so I'd recommend grabbing one of those instead ⭐️

You can refill as much as you want at the self-serve bar, so just take whatever amount you like! The seokbakji at gamjatang places is seriously so good ⭐️

The 10,000-won napa cabbage bone soup as a solo meal
For eating solo or a quick meal, the bone soup was pretty good too. If you're coming as a family, I'd recommend the gamjatang or the grilled bone ribs! 💫 What I ordered that day was the ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk —

🔖 Ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk, ₩10,000. It arrives piping hot in a stone pot 🤎 With rice included, one 10,000-won bill gets you a full meal —

I tasted the broth first, and the spicy, hot flavor really filled me up. I think I'll be thinking about this the day after drinking, for hangover cure haha. It wasn't too intense either, so it was great for mixing with rice!

How were the cabbage and the pork on the bone?
You could tear the ugeoji (napa cabbage) apart by hand, or they also gave scissors to cut it. The cabbage was cooked until soft and easy to eat, and true to the name ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk, it was packed generously with cabbage •• 🪽

There was quite a lot of meat clinging to the bones too. And it was so tender it slid right off ?!!

Picking off the cabbage and meat and eating them with rice made for a really filling meal :)

Opening deal: three servings to go for 25,000 won
Since Samsol Gamjatang just opened, they're running an opening event too! Three servings of ugeoji-ppyeo-haejangguk to go for ₩25,000 works out to about ₩8,000 per serving. Wow 😮 You can warm it up at home, and since it's three servings the portion is generous, so it seems like a good option for families to grab to take home :)

Samsol Gamjatang Main Branch is a great spot to visit when you want something simple but filling! With hot broth and rice, it really fills you up, so I'd recommend it for a meal if you're looking for a good gamjatang restaurant in Dalseo, Daegu ⭐️⭐️⭐️
