Paju café for Dubai doughnuts with crispy kataifi: Heuksadang
In short
Heuksadang is a handmade doughnut café in Heyri Art Village, Paju, Gyeonggi. We shared a crème brûlée doughnut, a Dubai doughnut, and 2 iced Americanos by the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the two doughnuts had clearly different flavors and textures. Verdict: a sweet stop worth making during a Heyri stroll or Paju drive.

While we were out having fun around Paju, we were looking for somewhere in Heyri Art Village to take a break with coffee and dessert, so we stopped by Heuksadang, a large café in Paju. They had such a wide variety of doughnuts that dessert lovers will have a great time just choosing one, haha. We ordered a crème brûlée doughnut, a Dubai doughnut, and 2 iced Americanos.
Heuksadang, a spacious café found in Heyri Art Village

Heuksadang is located at 37-10 Heyrimaeul-gil, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

It is a large Paju café in a standalone building with two floors. Once we stepped inside, there was quite a lot of seating and the high ceilings made the whole place feel nice and open.

It seemed like a nice place to pop in for a coffee midway through exploring Heyri Art Village, or to add to a Paju driving route too :)

And it was even listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey!!!

The interior has a second floor and feels so open, making it a good place to spend some time, haha. We sat by the floor-to-ceiling windows!
Heuksadang doughnuts: so many choices to think over

The first thing that caught our eye when we walked in was, of course, the doughnuts!

There was a whole display of different doughnuts, from cream-filled ones onward, so as you look through them one by one, it is hard to decide what to pick, haha.

Heuksadang is said to be a handmade doughnut specialty café that makes everything in-house, from the dough to the cream. Of all the options, we chose the two we were most curious about: the crème brûlée and Dubai doughnuts.

Our crème brûlée doughnut, Dubai doughnut, and 2 iced Americanos all arrived together, haha.
Crème brûlée doughnut filled with sweet cream

We started with the crème brûlée doughnut.

The sweet caramelized top and the soft cream inside came together in a combination that really felt like having dessert, haha.

When you take a bite, the sweetness hits first, followed by the cream inside, which blends in smoothly.

Since it is a sweet doughnut, having it with an iced Americano refreshed the palate now and then, and the pairing was just right.
Dubai doughnut with satisfying kataifi texture

The Dubai doughnut was another menu item that had us curious just from its appearance.

It had kataifi, shredded phyllo pastry, and pistachios inside, so it had a different charm from a cream-focused doughnut.

In particular, I loved kataifi's signature crisp texture when chewing, and the nutty flavor of pistachio made it even better.

Alternating it with the crème brûlée made the two flavors feel distinctly different.
Iced Americanos with sweet doughnuts

Because doughnuts alone can get quite sweet, we ordered 2 iced Americanos to go with them.

You cannot resist the sweet-dessert-and-iced-Americano combination, right? Haha. If two people visit, choosing around two kinds of doughnuts, each getting a coffee, and sharing everything seems like a nice setup too :)
Heuksadang, a good Paju stop for doughnuts too
Paju has so many large cafés, but I liked that Heuksadang offers not only coffee in a spacious setting but also a wide selection of handmade doughnuts! Above all, its roomy two-story space makes it a nice place to rest briefly while looking around Heyri Art Village, and it also seems well suited to anyone seeking a large Paju café where they can linger during a drive. If you like doughnuts, try the crème brûlée and Dubai doughnuts together. Their flavors and textures are different, so they are great to order as a pair and share :) If you are looking for a large café in Paju and cannot give up dessert, stop by Heuksadang in Heyri Art Village, haha.
