Wirye all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu ending with affogato: Dadam

In short

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu and Vietnamese rice paper wrap restaurant in Wirye, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, priced at 21,900 won per person. A weekend opening-run visit at Dadam paired a clear broth with a spicy broth, then worked through peanut sauce wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice paper wraps), kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), egg porridge and an affogato finish. The fresh self-bar and roomy space made Dadam better than expected.

Weekend opening run and where to park at Dadam

After searching high and low for a Wirye shabu-shabu spot, I finally made it to "Dadam Shabu" — famous among locals. It's an all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu place, so I did a weekend opening run! 🥒🫜 Lots of families were coming in too.

Dadam Shabu Shabu

I parked in the underground lot of the G&G Plaza building, which goes down to B2. If you do an opening run (between 11 and 12), there should be spots available. They support up to 3 hours of parking.

Choosing clear and spicy broths in one pot

It's ₩21,900 per person. I did half clear broth, half spicy broth. Dadam Shabu Shabu lets you choose your broth, and the combo of spicy, hot broth with peanut sauce and wolnamssam (rice paper wraps) is fantastic. Wrap the beef brisket and vegetables pulled from the tingly, fiery broth in rice paper, dip it deep in the nutty peanut sauce, and the spicy-savory balance is perfectly sweet-and-salty. Amazing!

I went for shabu-shabu craving something warm and easy on the stomach, and thanks to the clean atmosphere and fresh ingredients, the meal turned out better than expected.

What the Dadam self-bar keeps restocked

A self-bar packed with fresh vegetables. Mung bean sprouts, cabbage, mushrooms, and other shabu-shabu vegetables were restocked as soon as they ran low, so everything stayed nice and fresh.

The vegetables for wolnamssam were neatly prepped too, so it was easy to grab whatever I liked.

Why peanut sauce is a must with wolnamssam

Peanut sauce is essential. It goes so well with wolnamssam...👍 (the crunchy, chewy texture of the vegetables inside, plus that nuttiness spreading through your whole mouth)

That chewy texture of wolnamssam! So delicious. The highlight of shabu-shabu really is the wolnamssam stuffed with fresh vegetables. Dip a square rice paper sheet briefly in warm water, spread it out, then pile on the prepped vegetables and shabu meat to your liking. Add a spoonful of sweet, nutty peanut sauce on top. Biting into a mouthful of wolnamssam made me genuinely happy. The lean meat, the crunchy vegetables, and the thick, nutty peanut sauce come together in an addictive flavor you never get tired of. It's a combination anyone, any age, can enjoy without complaint.

The mushrooms soak up so much broth that I kept reaching for more. Hot broth-soaked meat plus the crunchy bite of various mushrooms, topped with that thick sauce, sets off a full-on storm of umami in your mouth. The spiciness gets softened by the nuttiness, so you just keep going back for more — definitely worth trying.

Round three: kalguksu and egg porridge

After working through the meat and vegetables, you can move on to round two with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), then round three with egg porridge simmered in the leftover broth.

For dessert you can have ice cream. And coffee too, of course. Can't resist an affogato. A cold Americano for a caffeine refill.

Can you get Dadam shabu-shabu to go?

Takeout is available too. From ₩7,900 — pack your own ingredients to go. Wolnamssam takeout is ₩12,000 with 2 sauces and 10 sheets of rice paper.

A comfortable space, fresh ingredients, and a generous self-bar all came together perfectly. If you're looking for a clean spot to eat out or gather with friends in Wirye, I'd recommend this one.
