Dog-friendly bakery café with fire-gazing in Pocheon: Geurine Oasis

On the way to get some fresh air at Gomo Reservoir, I visited this large bakery café in Pocheon. ✨ I relaxed with a cup of tea and pretty scenery, and since it is pet-friendly, I also got to watch adorable doggies playing. Hehe.

Spacious main building, annex, and outdoor garden

Geurine Oasis (그리네 오아시스) looks like an ordinary café from the road, but once you step inside, it is such a lovely place—it really does feel as if an oasis has opened up! With a main building and an annex, it is easy to spread out, and it is larger than expected thanks to the outdoor garden and playground too.

There was a parking attendant, so parking did not feel complicated even during busy hours. There are lots in front of and beside the building, and they say you can use a public parking lot one minute away if those are full. But I was able to leave my keys and double-park.

Weekday private rentals are also available, and they say the venue can accommodate up to 200 people. There are all sorts of seating options and spaces, including a terrace, rooftop, solo seats, and bar tables, so you can choose what suits you. The outdoor garden is by far the most popular! 🍃 This is just the season for enjoying an outdoor table, right? There was a gentle breeze and the sky was so high…💗

From the outdoor garden, I could take in Gomo Reservoir at a glance. It is worth driving out to Geurine Oasis, right? Such a restorative place!

The photo below is the pet playground. It was such a nice spot, with a large area where they can run around and play!

Pets are welcome in the annex and outdoors

The main building and annex have the warm feel of southern Europe. The main building has the bakery, so dogs are not allowed there, but you can use the annex together! ✨ The seats inside were neat and pretty too. Everything was well maintained as well.

Weekday fire-gazing experience and reservations

On weekdays, you can even do a fire-gazing experience. 🔥 You can order it at the kiosk, and Naver reservations are available too. If you reserve ahead through Naver, you get an extra 10 minutes.

I was curious what it was like, so I checked other visitors’ photos on Naver Map, and the fire-gazing setup really did look beautiful. I recommend it for anyone wanting an unusual date.

There were restrooms in both the main building and annex, and they were clean! A perfect score, 100 out of 100 💗

Bakery items baked on-site

This is not one of those large Pocheon bakery cafés selling delivered-in bread! The breads here are baked on-site. ✨ There was a great variety to pair with coffee, tea, or other drinks, including salt bread, scones, bagels, croissants, and chocolate pretzels.

The smell of the bread was incredibly delicious. There were lots of cake options too, making it the perfect place for a dessert lover like me.

I visited on a weekend, so there were quite a lot of customers, but the ordered items were still prepared fairly quickly. The staff were kind too.

Strawberry matcha latte, ssanghwa-cha, and chocolate strawberry cake

There were two of us. We ordered one ssanghwa-cha (traditional herbal tea), a strawberry matcha latte, and chocolate strawberry cake. 🍰 The tea and cake came to about ₩26,000 altogether. The teas are served in pretty cups, while the lattes come in very cute reusable cups! I think the pink and yellow colors are random.

They say even takeaway orders come in these pretty reusable cups. You can take them home and reuse them! Even the cup sleeve was reusable, which was both fascinating and cute. The teacup that held the ssanghwa-cha was so pretty too, right? A beautiful teacup makes a cup of tea feel extra soothing.

I ordered the strawberry matcha latte because I was curious, and it was way, way more delicious than I expected. Who knew strawberry and matcha could work together so well? They are seriously committed to lattes here. 💗 It also felt like they put considerable care into tea, not just coffee.

The ssanghwa-cha was very good too. It had a slightly bitter yet gently sweet flavor. When it is too sweet, the finish is not as pleasant, but this was just right—exactly my taste.

Autumn arrived so suddenly that it felt chilly, but the warm ssanghwa-cha was lovely for warming me up.

The sweet cake went wonderfully with it too. There was strawberry jam inside the chocolate cake, and it was an unexpectedly great match. The sponge was incredibly, incredibly soft—it just melted in my mouth!

The atmosphere was great, and the drinks were delicious. Next time, I want to sit outside while doing some fire-gazing. Since dogs are allowed, I would love to bring my doggie next time and relax too! The prices felt reasonable because the drinks and cake were so tasty! I recommend stopping by when you are out in Pocheon.
