Hi everyone! It's Meek 🫶 I was craving sushi in Buldang-dong, so I stopped by Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch. I was looking up Cheonan restaurant recommendations and this place seemed to have a nice variety of menu options, plus it looked like a perfect lunch spot!
Instead of both ordering the same thing, we each picked something different — one Ganghan Sushi and one Ganghan Special Sushi. Both sets are 12 pieces, so it was great for comparing while we ate. I'd recommend this as a Cheonan date spot too!

Where is Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch, and how does the free parking work?
Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is on the first floor of First Plaza, 67-12 Buldang21-ro, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungnam, South Korea. After parking on basement level 1 or 2, you register your car using the store tablet. Enter the last four digits of your license plate and you get up to 3 hours of free parking.

They're open daily from 11am to 10pm, with last order at 9:30pm. There's no break time, so it was easy to eat there even later in the day.

Inside Ganghan Sushi: seating and kids' chairs in Buldang-dong
Inside, Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch has a bright wood-toned interior that felt clean and tidy overall. Each table has its own ordering tablet, so you can pick your menu without having to flag down staff.
With both 2-person and 4-person tables available, it felt comfortable whether you're dining solo or with a friend. There was also a separate kids' chair set up in one corner, so it looked convenient for anyone looking for a place to eat with a child too!
Ganghan Sushi menu and prices in Cheonan
The Ganghan Sushi 12p is ₩14,000, and the Ganghan Special Sushi 12p is ₩17,000. There's also an Omakase Sushi 12p for ₩23,000, plus individual salmon, flatfish and tuna sets. You can check out the full menu on the table tablet before ordering. The two sets we ordered came to ₩31,000 total.

Ganghan Sushi 12p vs Ganghan Special Sushi 12p: what's different?
Ganghan Sushi comes with a basic lineup — flatfish, salmon, tuna, squid, shrimp, egg, and fried tofu pouch. It's a solid choice if you want to eat a broad range of familiar sushi.
The Ganghan Special Sushi added more distinctive items than the basic set, like ankimo (monkfish liver) gunkan and gim (dried seaweed) sushi. The price difference is only ₩3,000, so if you're visiting with someone else, ordering one of each to compare is a good idea.

The fish was thick enough to generously cover the rice, and the rice portion wasn't excessive, so you could really taste the ingredients. The salmon was soft and the flatfish had a firm texture. The Ganghan Sushi with its familiar lineup was good, but the fun of tasting different varieties was bigger with the Ganghan Special Sushi.

Mini udon, miso soup and seafood croquette come included
Ordering sushi at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch gets you mini udon, miso soup, seafood croquette, and washed aged kimchi (mujeongi) on the side.

The mini udon came with a warm broth containing fried tofu pouch and fish cake, which was nice to eat between bites of sushi. The seafood croquette was crispy outside and served with cabbage underneath. With 12 pieces of sushi plus the side dishes, the meal felt pretty filling.

Which Ganghan Sushi set to order — and the verdict
If you like basic fish sushi, the ₩14,000 Ganghan Sushi is more than enough. If you want something a bit different, like the ankimo gunkan, I'd recommend paying the extra ₩3,000 for the Ganghan Special Sushi. Visiting as a pair and ordering one of each was, for me, the best combination.

Getting 3 hours of free parking after registering, plus no break time, made things easy too. If you're looking for a sushi restaurant with parking in Buldang-dong, or a Cheonan restaurant recommendation that won't put too much strain on your wallet, I'd recommend Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch!
