Spicy pork gomtang at a Seongdong restaurant: Dwaeji Gomtang House
In short
Dwaeji Gomtang House is a pork gomtang pop-up in Seongdong, Seoul, on the fourth floor of Musinsa Mega Store. My younger sibling and I tried the clear and spicy set meals, with especially generous meat, broth-soaked rice, and great seokbakji. Verdict: a hearty pick when you’re craving spicy broth or gukbap.

Dwaeji Gomtang House pop-up on the fourth floor of Musinsa Mega Store
Today, my younger sibling and I wanted something really comforting for dinner, and while deciding what to eat, hot gomtang came to mind! The weather has gotten so much cooler lately, right? It made me crave broth even more,, But did you know there’s a really famous gomtang place in Seongsu? It’s not gomtang—it’s gongtang. I heard Dwaeji Gomtang House had opened at the Musinsa store, so I ran right over~!!

You all know this place, right~!! It really feels like Musinsa has taken over Seongsu. In one way, it’s just so impressive. It also makes me feel like our country has developed so much, and Musinsa is especially amazing lol. It’s not even mine, but I feel proud hahaha.

There’s Musinsa Food Garden on the fourth floor of Musinsa Mega Store. Dwaeji Gomtang House is inside this food garden.

It has opened as a special pop-up. The world really has gotten better when you can discover such a great gomtang spot through a pop-up…🤍

Dwaeji Gomtang House is at Corner A!! By the way, this Musinsa Food Garden is really pleasant and clean. Seongsu is normally so packed and crowded, you know. I liked it enough that I wanted to come hang out here again next time!

Kiosk ordering and the pop-up menu
You order from the kiosk. If you want naengmyeon (cold noodles), head to the main branch! Since this is a pop-up, there’s no naengmyeon here haha. I was here for gomtang anyway, so no problem~!!

Clear Gomtang Set and Spicy Gomtang Set
Ta-da~! Our food arrived. We ordered the Clear Gomtang Set and the Spicy Gomtang Set. Doesn’t everything look so generously portioned? 😆 We were so hungry that all I wanted was to dig in already..✨

How spicy is the Spicy Gomtang?
I’ll show you the Spicy Gomtang first. Wow, it was spicier than I expected—about as spicy as Yeol Ramen 🔥 If you can barely handle Shin Ramyun, go for the clear one lol. And the amount of meat was seriously crazy. It had the most meat of any gomtang I’ve tried. It really felt like they didn’t hold back on the meat.

Also, the rice comes already toreum, meaning it has been soaked in the broth from the start. I really like gukbap (rice soup) that comes mixed like this. It feels like the rice has absorbed all that broth~ It was absolutely the perfect gomtang for sobering up after drinks.

Clear Gomtang with chili seeds
This is the Clear Gomtang, and it also had an enormous amount of meat. You can take out a piece of meat and wrap it with chili seeds. It’s such a special little treat 🌶️ The chili seeds weren’t spicy at all. With this combination, you could keep eating forever~

They also give you seokbakji (cubed radish kimchi) and dried shredded radish. The seokbakji was totally my style!! haha Kimchi with gomtang really is the best. My younger sibling said the kimchi was so good and even stole mine hahaha. I stole their seokbakji instead hehe.

Musinsa shopping after the meal
After we finished eating, we also looked around Musinsa Beauty and Musinsa Standard~ You can shop and walk off your meal at the same time, so it feels like killing two birds with one stone haha. It’s slowly becoming fall and the weather is getting chilly, so visit Dwaeji Gomtang House and warm yourselves up with hot broth too 😉 I highly recommend Dwaeji Gomtang House~!
