Seongdong restaurant for rosé shrimp risotto: Huirit
In short
Huirit is a Western restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, converted from an old house. We had rosé shrimp risotto, spicy tomato ragù fettuccine, and passion fruit ade, and the two main dishes were an especially great pairing. Verdict: Huirit is worth revisiting for a relaxed Italian-style meal.

Huirit (희릿), an old house converted in a Seongsu alley
What can’t be left out of a date itinerary? Pasta, obviously… It had been SO~~~ long since Dongju and I had pasta out, and it was so delicious that I rushed right over to share it

Huirit is tucked deep in an alley, so be careful not to walk past it! (The map clearly said we were there, but we couldn’t see it and kept looking around ..)

Once you head inside~

You can peek at the atmosphere through a little window (?)

And then there’s this outdoor space that is totally my style..🤍 You might think it’s still hot out, but the weather was just perfect that day!

We were assigned an indoor table, so in we went! The wine bottles were so atmospheric that I was taking photos, then happened to catch the eye-stealing tissue case..🕶️

Right beside the outdoor terrace seats was a small room that could fit four or five people, and I think it would be perfect for a larger group😽 It felt like a detached home, and apparently it really is a space made by remodeling a house that is over 40 years old..!
The pasta and risotto we chose at Huirit
Menu

Everything looked seriously delicious, so after lots of deliberating, here’s what we ordered..!.. (drumrollllll)
- Spicy tomato ragù fettuccine
- Rosé shrimp risotto
- Passion fruit ade

The rosé shrimp risotto! 🦐

And the spicy tomato ragù fettuccine! 🍝🌶️ (My spicy-food confidence has kicked in again lately.)

Plus a passion fruit ade😻 It was sweet and tangy, and went perfectly with every dish..🩷

Just look at this mouthwatering spread ㅠ ㅠ (I couldn’t wait for the pasta to come out, so I’d already started on the risotto haha)

The rosé risotto and spicy ragù combination
This rosé shrimp risotto in particular was the best risotto I’ve had lately.. The distinct grains of rice went so well with the sweet rosé sauce, and there was just enough cheese without making it heavy 🙂↕️ It also had several big, plump shrimp!

I was worried that “spicy” would mean really hot, but it was about as spicy as Shin Ramyun…! Nicely spicy, maybe..? 🤔 So it was truly a perfect match with the sweet rosé risotto!! (I really, really recommend this combination🥹)

The chunks of meat were especially generous, so I scraped up every last bit of sauce..?

..Yep.. It was so delicious.. (You can tell, right?) The two of us ate just enough to be perfectly full!!💝

How should you reserve Huirit?
When we came out after eating, people were dining on the terrace too..! The weather will get cooler from here, so I think it would be lovely to sit on the terrace next time 🥰
There aren’t many tables, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting!!
- Naver Booking: The deposit is ₩15,000 per adult and ₩0 for infants and children. Pay the deposit in advance and the reservation is confirmed right away! However, it is difficult to choose your seat through Naver Booking, so use Catchtable if you want a particular seat.
- Catchtable: The deposit is ₩10,000 per person. Indoor tables, the bar, outdoor terrace, and room can each be reserved separately, so I recommend booking through Catchtable!!
It’s a little way from Seongsu Station, so it isn’t hectic, and you can enjoy delicious Western food at a relaxed pace—10000% planning to revisit!!!!!
