Mangwon-dong fajita platter with Tabasco and tortilla refills: Taco

Heading out to Mangwon-dong, just picking what to eat is a whole task in itself.

I was in the mood for something different from my usual go-tos, so I went to check out Taco Dot, a Mangwon-dong restaurant that keeps popping up.

It's not just a taco place — the menu ranges from fajitas to enchiladas to taco rice. We went with the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter, which lets you try pork, jerk chicken and shrimp all at once.

Piling hot meat and veggies onto a tortilla and mixing in whatever sauce you want was genuinely fun — here's my Mangnidan-gil report ☺

Taco Dot sits on the alley you hit walking from Mangwon Station toward Mangnidan-gil.

It's an easy move from browsing Mangwon Market to grabbing a meal here, and with all the cafés and gift shops nearby, it fits neatly into a date course.

Wander the alleys a bit and you'll be there in no time — a solid pick for anyone hunting down good Mangwon-dong food.

Interior and seating

The interior mixes beige walls, checkerboard flooring, and retro tables and chairs for a distinctly foreign feel.

There's a bar table by the window, and Tabasco bottles are scattered around as decor — the Mexican vibe is on point.

The menu — from tacos to enchiladas to taco rice

Overall the menu centers on tacos, with fajita platters, enchiladas, and taco rice rounding out the Mexican lineup.

There were plenty of taco varieties too — pulled pork, carnitas, Nashville hot chicken — enough that I wanted to come back and work through the whole list.

If you want something filling, I'd recommend the fajita platter, loaded generously with meat and shrimp.

After a short wait, the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter arrived!

A huge plate stacked with meat, shrimp and grilled vegetables — it looked incredibly good before I'd even taken a bite.

The amount of meat is huge too!

The portion was way more generous than the menu photo suggested. The pork and jerk chicken came in big chunks, and the shrimp were plump — every single ingredient felt substantial.

It's not just a pile of meat, either — there's a generous amount of grilled onion and bell pepper too, which was great for wrapping alongside.

Dialing in the heat with Tabasco

There's Tabasco on the table, so you can pick your own spice level.

A light drizzle on the fajita gave it a spicy-tangy kick that was genuinely delicious.

Now it's just a matter of piling whatever you want onto a tortilla and building your own taco. Load up on meat and shrimp, add grilled veggies, coleslaw, cilantro — and one bite!

The flavor shifts depending on what you pile in, so trying a new combo with each tortilla is part of the fun — honestly, that's the whole point of tacos.

The taste completely exceeded expectations too. The meat was savory with juices intact, and the shrimp were big and springy with great texture.

Piling meat and shrimp onto the tortilla freely, then topping it off generously with sauce — every bite was packed full!

Each ingredient brought a different taste and texture, so I didn't get tired of it even after several tortillas.

And apart from the main, the tortillas and other sauces get refilled if you run low.
