Changwon Korean barbecue with staff-grilled pork: Anmin Jinhae

I made yet another return visit to Anmin Jinhae (안민 진해) in Jinhae-gu, Changwon, haha! This was such a satisfying meal again that I came running back to write another review!! Let’s get straight into this honest repeat-visit review!!!!!

It’s on the second floor of one of the buildings right at the entrance to Seok-dong’s dining alley! There are big Chinese characters posted along the way upstairs too, so you won’t get confused, haha.

• Hours: 17:00–23:00 (last order 21:30)
• No dedicated parking is available

There were four of us this time! We reserved ahead of time before visiting. There isn’t dedicated parking! We looked around nearby and parked in a free open-lot parking area!! Haha.

Even though it was a return visit, it was bustling as ever, packed with people and the delicious smell of meat!! 🫢 They had prepared a spacious table for our reservation. It was toward the back, so it felt private too, which I loved haha.

I really love Anmin Jinhae’s distinctive, upscale reserved seating!! The friends I brought along already seemed happy with the atmosphere too, haha.

Tablet ordering and the whole-pig set

Ordering was easy on the tablet at the table! Besides ordering food, the tablet had lots of choices under the staff-call section for different services, so it was convenient to use throughout the meal.

Once again, we ordered the whole-pig set. We added pork jowl and a special cut to enjoy with it! So far I’d only tried the soybean paste stew among the sides, so I also had a little look through the other menu items~

First out were the side dishes and assorted sauces! There was salted hairtail innards, shiitake wasabi, and even cheese fondue sauce; dipping each cut of meat into something different feels like a special treat, haha!

We were so hungry this time that I ordered steamed egg, which arrives relatively quickly.. It was so, so delicious!!!!!!!!! I seriously recommend ittt,,,

Above the tablet, the explanations of the side dishes and sauces were displayed so clearly!! The shiitake wasabi is really delicious, and dipping the meat in the fish sauce soy sauce is seriously next-level....

Meat grilled for you and served on a brazier

Our meat set arrived! The pork neck was so thick and looked beautifully colored... There was pork belly, pork neck, pork skin, and a special cut too! The special cut is galmaegisal (pork skirt meat), haha. Every cut has its own charm, so I definitely recommend trying them all!!

The staff grill the meat themselves! They prepare it at its most perfectly cooked and delicious state!! I appreciated how kindly they explained the cuts and doneness!! It felt like receiving such a valuable service~~

As soon as the staff finish grilling the meat, they transfer it to a small brazier! Thanks to that, it was so nice to eat comfortably!

Doesn’t it make your mouth water just looking at the photos? ㅠㅠㅠ The pork belly was seriously so tender and delicious!! And the pork skin was exactly my taste...! The pork skin was so good that I wanted to order more, but it isn’t available as a standalone item. Thought that would be good to know!

We finished up properly with the spicy soybean paste stew again..! This was such a satisfying meal once more!!!! It was beyond filling—practically a bursting-at-the-seams meal—and I loved that we could eat so comfortably and deliciously!

The staff were all so kind, and I was completely satisfied with both the quantity and quality of the meat—truly a top restaurant! If I get the chance to come to Changwon again later, I definitely want to visit again! For anyone looking for great food in Jinhae, one of Changwon’s best barbecue spots, or a place to enjoy meat with a variety of drinks, I strongly recommend visiting Anmin Jinhae!!!!!!!!!
