A Korean BBQ spot in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, with a name that literally means "true" pork house — Cham Dwaejitgan.

A friend came to visit Cheonan after a long while, so I wanted to treat them to good samgyeopsal (pork belly), and headed to Cham Dwaejitgan in Dujeong-dong, a Korean BBQ spot not too far from home. This place serves Jirisan black pork, and I was curious how it compares to Jeju black pork.
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch, a Cheonan Korean BBQ restaurant

Cham Dwaejitgan sits in the Dujeong-dong restaurant district. It's genuinely hard to get a spot in this area unless a place is truly good, so my expectations were already high.

Even from outside, the restaurant looks sizeable, and you can sense the pride they take in their meat.
Out front, a sign lists the restaurant's selling points, and corkage-free really stands out — useful for family gatherings or company dinners.

Parking is street parking around the restaurant, so come prepared for that.
Menu

Jirisan black pork is the signature item, with the menu built around pork belly and pork neck.
Boseong green tea-fed pork is also available, including jowl and skirt cuts (nokdon)!

On the side, there's both kimchi jjigae and doenjang jjigae, plus cold noodles, soy sauce egg rice, and steamed egg. Fried rice too!
That day we ordered two servings of Jirisan black pork belly, one mul-naengmyeon, and one steamed egg.
Interior

The interior is quite clean and tidy.

We arrived around 5:30 PM, and all the group tables were already marked as reserved...

The tables are spaced generously, which made moving around to the self-serve bar comfortable.
Honest review

After ordering, the first thing set down is grilling kimchi along with bean sprouts and minari (water dropwort).

For basic side dishes, you get a vegetable set to go with the meat (plus garlic scapes).

Sauces come neatly portioned one per person, and I was glad to see a mushroom wasabi sauce, one of my favorites.

Before digging in, I read through the classic pork belly pairing guide — potato slices were something I'd never seen before at a Cheonan Korean BBQ spot, so that got me excited.

Soon the Jirisan black pork belly arrived! (Honestly, those potato slices caught my eye more than the meat itself haha)
The balance of lean meat, fat, and skin is really harmonious.

Rice-husk smoked + charcoal-grilled pan
Cham Dwaejitgan uses a special grill pan — the meat is smoked over rice husks while being grilled over charcoal, which apparently boosts the flavor even further.

Staff grill the meat for you here, which meant I could relax and focus on chatting with my friend.
They caught the exact moment it was evenly cooked and delicious, and plated it for us — by that point I already had no doubt it would be good.

Signature potato-slice wrap
Our very first bite, on the owner's recommendation, was the combo of potato slice + meat + garlic scape + mushroom sauce.

My friend and I put it in our mouths at the same time and both went "this is insane" haha, throwing out exaggerated reactions at each other. Grilling the potato in pork fat made it chewy, adding a whole new texture on top of the meat.

Moderately fatty with a crispy-chewy skin all balanced out — the meat alone was a double thumbs-up.

We dutifully worked through perilla leaf wraps too...

...but Cham Dwaejitgan's own signature wrap was so good we kept reaching for potato instead haha.
Steamed egg, cold noodles, and fried rice to finish
The steamed egg that came out partway through looked just like pudding — impossible not to poke at it haha. Perfect to snack on between bites!

No BBQ meal feels complete without naengmyeon, so I ordered the mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) — slightly sweet, and adding mustard gave it a sweet-tangy kick that kept pulling me back for more haha.

We split the last of the potato slices and finished off the final bits of meat together!
Not wanting to be called a BBQ amateur, I made sure to properly close things out (?) by ordering the fried rice too haha.
Nothing was stuck to the pan, so we could scrape the fried rice clean — and that's how we wrapped things up properly haha.
If you're looking for a Cheonan Korean BBQ spot in Dujeong-dong, definitely check out Cham Dwaejitgan! The quality of the meat itself is different, and once you try their signature potato-slice wrap, you'll realize there's a whole new kind of flavor out there💗
