Eunpyeong Korean BBQ for gabrisal and ₩1,000 soju: Yukjjip
In short
Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Eunpyeong, Seoul, a one-minute walk from Eungam Station and right in front of Bulgwangcheon Stream. We had staff-grilled gabrisal, yeol soondubu jjigae, and handmade pork skin, plus the alcohol discount extended through October. Verdict: a spot I want to revisit when I’m craving grilled meat and a bottle of soju.

Right in front of Bulgwangcheon Stream, one minute on foot from Eungam Station
There’s a Korean BBQ place near Eungam Station running a ₩1,000 soju event that I’d had my eye on for a while. While my husband and I were deciding on dinner, it came to mind, so we went to Yukjjip (육쯥).

It’s only about a one-minute walk from Eungam Station and right in front of Bulgwangcheon Stream, so it’s easy to find. There was a waiting-registration machine and a waiting area in front, plus cold water for people waiting in the hot weather. (This kind of thoughtful touch is the best.) It was busy when we visited too, so we got in after waiting around 30 minutes. They were also running a prize-draw event for anyone waiting over 20 minutes, and I’m still sad that I forgot and just left..!
A bright, spacious interior across two floors
The interior is divided between the first and second floors, with a bright, open feel overall. The restroom is inside too, which is convenient! Both floors were nearly full when we visited. I spotted all kinds of groups, from family dinners to larger gatherings.
Yukjjip’s menu and how to order at the table

The menu includes the Yukjjip Special Assortment, as well as individual cuts like pork neck, thick pork belly, and gabrisal, plus plenty of meal options including stews, noodles, and rice dishes. I brought this menu photo from Yukjjip’s Naver Place listing because it makes the prices and selection easy to see at a glance! You order using the tablet at your table, haha.
Tips you can check on the tablet before ordering

On the tablet at the table, there were stew-and-meal sets that go well with meat. It also showed tips for enjoying the food and an explanation of Yukjjip’s patented grill, so it was nice to browse before the meat arrived.
Soju and bottled beer discounts extended through October

And the reason I’d been watching Yukjjip: the ₩1,000 soju / ₩2,000 bottled beer event. The summer event was originally supposed to run through August, but it has been extended through October, so keep that in mind if you visit💜 (I need to go again soon... for drinks.) They also give you a handmade sausage if you write a Naver receipt review, so make use of that too~
Today’s order, from gabrisal to pork skin

- Soju ₩1,000 · beer ₩2,000 (event prices for alcohol through October only)

A generous spread of side dishes and gabrisal

Yukjjip’s basic spread comes with lots of sides to pair with the meat, including ssam vegetables (wrap greens), white kimchi, green onion kimchi, and myeonginamul pickled wild garlic leaves. With soju at ₩1,000, there was no way not to order a bottle first~
Two servings of Jirisan Korean pork gabrisal

We started with two servings of gabrisal. Eggplant, garlic stems, and mushrooms arrived on the same platter, and the staff grilled the meat themselves from start to finish, so all we had to do was wait comfortably. They put the vegetables on the grill first, then added the gabrisal piece by piece. It was nice to just chat with my husband while we waited instead of doing the grilling ourselves.
Look at that gabrisal on the grill; it already looks seriously good.

The heat was strong, so it cooked pretty quickly. They browned the gabrisal, cut it into bite-size pieces, and finished it up for us. Time for a bite 💜 It’s a moderately fatty cut, so it was savory, with a pleasantly chewy texture as I kept chewing! The well-grilled gabrisal was good on its own and dipped in salt, but it was also fantastic with green onion kimchi~ We started craving rice and stew, so we added some.
Original yeol soondubu jjigae and steamed rice

The yeol soondubu jjigae, a spicy soft tofu stew, can be made less spicy, but since it was my first time trying it, I ordered the original version. Naturally, steamed rice had to join it too.

For round two, they grilled the rest of the gabrisal for us.

Once it was all cooked, they transferred it to a bowl like that, and even the mushrooms were cooked in the gabrisal fat—so good! Grilled white kimchi with it is absolutely delicious too.

We dipped it in the meljeot, a fermented anchovy sauce, that came alongside it too, then piled gabrisal and green onion kimchi over rice. (No argument there.) With the meljeot, the umami just explodes and the gabrisal’s savory richness gets taken to another level..💜

You can’t leave out a ssam wrap either.. The gabrisal + myeonginamul + garlic combination adds tangy, pungent notes that make you want to drink. Personally, I liked the seasoned salted shrimp pairing best. It was delicious on gabrisal, but even just over rice, that salty flavor was completely my thing haha.
Handmade pork skin we grilled ourselves

My husband and I both like pork skin too, so we added one serving as a drinking snack. For the pork skin, they put it on the grill and cut it for you, but you have to cook the rest yourself. Of course, my husband grilled all of it. He’s a pro! (Best husband💜)

You press it down sizzle~ with the cast-iron plate like this. Then flip it this way and that to cook both sides. We like it a little crispy and cut into long strips, so we cooked it crisp and sliced it lengthwise.
Wait, how many bottles of soju is that.. Maybe because it was handmade pork skin, it was even more savory, with absolutely no off smell and so delicious~ You all know pork skin’s texture, right? Bouncy and chewy, with the seasoning soaked in nicely. Dip it in soybean powder and the happiness doubles~ Yes, well... we were talking and eating, and somehow drank this much. Since it was our second round, I’ll let it slide. I need to come back and eat again.
A good choice for family dinners or group gatherings
Yukjjip was a satisfying meal from the staff-grilled gabrisal to the handmade pork skin, and we could eat comfortably because the meat was cooked for us. There were especially lots of side dishes to pair with the meat, which made it fun to mix and match to our taste. It also seemed like a good Eunpyeong Korean BBQ spot for family dinners or group gatherings. Above all, the ₩1,000 soju event has been extended through October, so we’re planning another visit soon. (Handmade pork skin, just wait for me!) It’s close to Eungam Station and right in front of Bulgwangcheon Stream, so stop by when you’re craving meat nearby.
