A Haeundae Lunch Spot I Visited with My Parents

The weather was lovely, so after taking a drive with my parents, we went looking for a Haeundae, Busan restaurant with a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for lunch—and that is how we found Bueokgan Haeundae Branch (부엌간 해운대점) ◡̎ When dining with parents, the food matters, of course, but I also look carefully at whether the dining space and parking are convenient. Bueokgan was a place I really liked on those points too.

It is near Dongbaek Elementary School in Haeundae, Busan, across from Hillstate Weve. Café de Bueok and Bueokgan Chinese are on the first floor, while Bueokgan is on the second. There is a private parking lot, so we parked comfortably and headed up to the second floor!

European-Style Interior and Family Dining Convenience
The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I entered Bueokgan on the second floor was the exotic interior, which felt as though I had arrived in Europe. The spaces on either side had different moods, so even within the same restaurant, each felt distinct.

The space with its lush green view had such a warm, comfortable feel, and the atmosphere changed depending on where you sat. Best of all, Bueokgan in Haeundae, Busan is a YES Kids Zone, making it a nice place to visit with children. There are also high chairs and children's tableware, so I recommend it for a family meal too.

Lunch Choices Ordered on the Table Tablet
We took our time looking through the menu and ordered on the tablet at the table. There were set menus as well as salads, pizzas, pastas, risottos, steaks, and more. We ordered the basil margherita, seafood tomato ttukbaegi pasta, carbonara, and vongole pasta.

How Was the Basil Margherita?
Bueokgan's basil margherita at this Haeundae, Busan restaurant. Pasta alone felt a little incomplete, and I had heard Bueokgan was known for pizza, so we ordered it. The basil-pesto base and roasted tomatoes went so well together that I was glad we did.

The dough was light yet pleasantly chewy, and the fragrant basil made it clean and easy to enjoy. Even my parents, who were trying basil for the first time, said it was so good :)

Everything we ordered at Bueokgan Haeundae Branch arrived. It felt like the whole table was full! Basil margherita ₩19,000, seafood tomato ttukbaegi pasta ₩19,000, carbonara ₩19,000, and vongole pasta ₩20,000.

Warm Ttukbaegi Pasta and Clean-Tasting Vongole
The seafood tomato ttukbaegi pasta came piping hot in a ttukbaegi (Korean earthenware pot), so we could enjoy it warm until the very end. It was packed with shrimp, mussels, and clams, and even the look of it was delicious.

The tomato sauce had that tangy, rich flavor unique to a sauce simmered slowly for a long time, joined by the savory taste of the seafood and bouncy shrimp. So delicious!

My choice was the clean and light vongole pasta. The savory flavor drawn from the clams met the delicate simplicity of the oil base, giving it a charm quite different from cream or tomato pasta.

The more I ate, the more I enjoyed the subtle seafood aroma coming through the noodles. It was full of clams, savory-salty yet clean, and the kind of flavor that kept me reaching for another bite.
Carbonara That Even My Father Loved
My father on my side of the family loves carbonara, and this rich, nutty one was his favorite pasta he had eaten recently! The cream sauce was smooth and flavorful, and it coated the noodles beautifully, making it easy for both children and adults to enjoy.

Personally, if carbonara is too rich, I usually lose interest after a few bites, but Bueokgan's had such a lovely balance of nuttiness and smoothness. My parents were so satisfied this time, and since it is a YES Kids Zone, I will have to bring the children next time too. It was such a happy time—taking a drive with my parents after so long and enjoying a meal in Bueokgan's pretty space in Haeundae, Busan :)
