Basement pizzeria in Seongsu-dong with bottled beer: Pizza Slice Seoul
In short
Pizza Slice Seoul is a pizza-by-the-slice shop from Tokyo's Shibuya, in the basement at 159 Achasan-ro in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, 430 m from Seongsu Station Exit 2. Stopping in alone for a late lunch, I had one mushroom slice with a bottle of Budweiser, and the thin crust carried the mushroom flavour well with red pepper flakes and Tabasco added to taste. Even underground, Pizza Slice Seoul is roomy and comfortable, making it an easy choice for eating solo with a daytime beer.

Went for a solo meal in Seongsu after a while. The interior was so pretty I got excited! This is a story about mushroom pizza and solo beer at Pizza Slice, a hot spot restaurant in Seongsu-dong. Affordable prices too, so it was great for daytime drinking.

When I was in Seongsu-dong I'd walked past this place before and stopped in my tracks because it looked so pretty.

Down the stairs to the basement we go!

What is the basement space near Seongsu Station like?
Pizza Slice Seoul looks like a Seongsu Station café from the moment you walk in. White tones with red accents make the interior great for photos too.

There's a waiting area for when there's a line.

I loved the clean white-toned interior. I sat in a corner seat.

The Pizza Slice menu board is written in English, since a lot of foreign visitors come here too. You can also enjoy cocktails here. Good idea to order a side menu item too.

No matter how you look at it, the interior is way too pretty for a pizza place. Red is the accent color! Great for photos.

The open kitchen at Pizza Slice is so clean it inspired even more trust. I could eat with peace of mind. Since I eat out a lot these days, this is a point I take seriously.

There's also a round table that's great for group gatherings.

Eating alone: one mushroom slice and a Budweiser
At Pizza Slice Seoul you can pair a pizza slice with a bottle of beer. Budweiser! Chugging straight from the bottle haha, such a great vibe.

At the table there were paper towels, herbs, red pepper flakes, Tabasco hot sauce, and tomato ketchup, so you can enjoy it however you like.

I was surprised — even though it's underground, it didn't feel like a basement at all. Bigger and more comfortable than I expected.

The staff making the pizzas were friendly too, and the whole mood is hip.
Restroom inside, separated by gender

The restroom was clean and well kept too.

Which pizza slices and sides are on the Pizza Slice Seoul menu?
The garlic nuts looked chewy — I should have ordered those too. This place is a slice-pizza specialist that came from Tokyo's Shibuya.

The pizzas were nicely displayed. After ordering, the pizza came out fast, which I loved. They make fresh batches of the various pizzas as soon as one runs out. Since I could only eat one slice, it was hard to decide what to get.

Here's the menu at Pizza Slice, a well-known spot near Seongsu Station.

- Cream cheese
- Homemade meatball
- Hawaiian, and more
If you really can't decide, go with the pizza of the day!! There's also chipotle dipping sauce.

The bussing station and sink. Great for washing your hands quickly before and after eating.

How did the mushroom pizza taste?
The mushroom pizza had a thin crust that was easy to eat, and I could really taste the mushroom flavor. A big, generous slice of pizza paired with beer made for the perfect solo lunch — going during a late lunch made it feel so relaxed and happy.

The thin crust made it easy to eat and let the mushroom flavor come through. The texture was so good.

I like pizza like this, plain and clean-tasting. I want to eat it again. The pizza-and-beer combo was great.

I finished it without leaving a crumb, and I was already craving another slice in a different flavor. Holding it with a paper towel like this keeps your hands clean and makes it easier to eat! As a pizza fanatic, I need to come back here regularly.
It's tasty as is, but the red pepper flakes cut the richness and added a nice savory kick.

I also snuck in some spicy Tabasco. Pizza Slice Seoul in Seongsu had a great overseas kind of feel, and with this kind of value and quality it seems like it'll only become more of a Seongsu hot spot! Also a great option for people living alone who'd find finishing a whole pizza a bit much. For anniversaries or special occasions, you can reserve ahead and get lettering added to the pizza.
