Thai restaurant near Seongsu Station for dinner after work: Soi Nana

In short

Soi Nana is a Thai restaurant near Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul with a Southeast Asian resort vibe. Ordering pad thai and poo pad pong curry (both broth-free dishes) after work, the writer got a free bowl of pho broth on the house plus two lemon cream shrimp from a Naver review event. With good vibes even in the outdoor seats, it's a great spot in Seongsu to feel like you're on vacation while grabbing dinner.

I'm the happiest when I'm out eating something delicious after work haha. This time too, I was wondering what to eat after work and ended up going for Thai food in Seongsu~ I found this place while searching for Thai restaurants in Seongsu, and the vibe here was seriously on point. It's called "Soi Nana"!

Feeling like I traveled to Southeast Asia, right in the middle of Seongsu

Oh my gosh, the exterior alone gives off such resort vibes, what is this haha. In the middle of Seongsu, I suddenly felt like I was traveling in Southeast Asia. I went after work, and the moment I arrived in front of the place, the atmosphere completely shifted, putting me in a weirdly good mood like I was actually traveling haha.

Seriously, the outside vibe is so good... it really feels Southeast Asian, I'm telling you~ There's a palm tree feel to it and the overall atmosphere has that resort sensibility, so it was great for photos too haha. I feel like eating outside on a nice-weather day would be amazing! You can pretend you're briefly traveling in Southeast Asia while eating dinner in Seongsu haha.

The weekday evening scene inside

But when I stepped inside, it was already packed with people... I guessed this must be a famous Thai food spot in Seongsu haha. There were a lot of people who looked like they'd come for dinner after work too, and the inside had quite a lively atmosphere. If outside felt like a resort, inside felt bustling with people—a totally different vibe! Still, we found a table and ordered confidently~

First, a cold Coke came out, and the glass was really unique haha. It wasn't an ordinary Coke glass but something that matched the Thai restaurant atmosphere so well, which made me look twice even at something so small. I was thirsty after work so I took a refreshing sip~ and then started waiting for the food haha.

We only ordered broth-free dishes, and they gave us pho broth as a service

We ordered poo pad pong curry and pad thai! But here's the truly genius move... Since we only ordered dishes without broth, they gave us pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) broth as a service!! What kind of thoughtfulness is this haha. I was thinking it'd be nice to have some broth, and they picked up on that exactly, which totally touched me. Eating Thai food while spooning up warm pho broth—that filled in the missing 2 percent perfectly, yeah.

And I also joined the Naver review event and got 2 lemon cream shrimp haha. But wow, these were so delicious. Sour and creamy at the same time, perfect for whetting the appetite. Popping one before the main dishes arrived really woke up my taste buds! I was almost sad I only got 2 haha. If you're doing the review event, make sure to grab the lemon cream shrimp too~

Pad thai, plump shrimp and all

Drumroll~ pad thai has arrived!! I'm honestly obsessed with pad thai. Whenever I go for Thai food, pad thai is almost an automatic order, and this time was no exception haha. The moment it came out, the noodles looked properly soaked in seasoning, and the visuals alone made my mouth water. I was hungry after work so I grabbed my chopsticks and dug in right away...

The shrimp inside were plump and packed with umami too. They weren't tiny shrimp thrown in as an afterthought—plump shrimp were mixed in, giving a nice chew. The sweet and salty flavor unique to pad thai, combined with the shrimp, kept me reaching for more. Pad thai never disappoints haha. Since it's my favorite dish, I demolished it in no time.

Poo pad pong curry comes with a bowl of rice included

And now the star of the show—poo pad pong (crab curry) has arrived!! There's even a flower on top... Just one flower on the dish completely elevates the visuals haha. Great for photos and it puts you in a good mood too~ And the poo pad pong curry comes with a bowl of rice included as standard! No need to add rice separately since a bowl to go with the curry comes free—loved that too haha.

And the fried crab is seriously on point... the crispy texture is insane haha. It was so clean and crispy it seemed certain it had been fried in genuinely fresh oil. Cut the crab into bite-sized pieces, mix it with the poo pad pong curry over rice, and there's nothing left to envy. The soft, savory flavor of the curry combined with the crispy fried crab in every bite was such a perfect combo. Put a piece of crab on a spoonful of rice, pile on plenty of curry, and before you know it the rice is gone haha.

How was dinner after work?

Maybe because it was dinner after work, it somehow tasted even better haha. If you're looking for atmospheric Thai food in Seongsu, "Soi Nana" was quite good~ The exterior really nails the Southeast Asian resort feel, and I ate my fill—from pad thai to poo pad pong curry! Especially if you're a pad thai lover like me, definitely try the pad thai, and I strongly recommend mixing the poo pad pong curry with the rice haha.
