Frozen-thawed dol hareubang madeleines at Jeju duty free: Today Jeju

On this Jeju trip I stopped by Today Jeju, located inside Shilla Duty Free in Jeju City! Whenever you visit Jeju, you have to grab some cute souvenirs or delicious desserts, right? 🤤

I heard they make adorable dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue)-shaped desserts using Jeju local ingredients and top-quality materials, so I went straight in to check it out!

Looking at the round, adorable dol hareubang desserts lined up in the display case was seriously so cute! They really capture that Jeju feel in their cute hareubang shape, and best of all, they contain no preservatives or additives, so I could buy them with even more peace of mind 👍

I put mine in the fridge the same day I bought it, then took it out and tried it the next day 😋 By the way, part of the proceeds are donated to a children's welfare center, so it felt like a warm, feel-good purchase too.

From strawberry to hallabong: how did they taste?

First up, the pretty pink strawberry flavor! The overall texture was close to a soft, moist madeleine. At first the strawberry had a subtle fragrance but leaned more toward a bready taste, which made me go, huh?

The chocolate, Earl Grey, matcha, and hallabong I tried next were all seriously delicious, every single one ㅠㅠ!! Once I took the first bite, I couldn't stop and ended up polishing them off on the spot... They went great with milk, and just as well with a warm Americano ~ Even eaten straight out of the freezer they were more moist than I expected, so they were easy to enjoy right away!
