Marine City Chinese restaurant with open-air seats: BUUK jjajangmyeon
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a roughly 100-pyeong (330 m²) Chinese restaurant on the second floor of a building facing the sea in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. One side of the dining room is open to the air, and the order here was BUUK jjajangmyeon, woo-samgyeop beef jjamppong, and jalapeño cream shrimp. Thick noodles, a rich jjamppong broth that is not spicy, and cream shrimp that never turned soggy make Bueokgan Chinese a solid lunch pick in Busan.

Today I'm writing up my visit to Bueokgan, a well-known spot near Marine City in Haeundae. This is a Chinese restaurant with an absolutely amazing view — one side is completely open so you can eat with the breeze coming in, like an outdoor patio, and the jjajangmyeon, jjamppong, and cream shrimp were all delicious. Highly recommend it for lunch in Busan.

Where Bueokgan Chinese is, the 100-pyeong interior and the restrooms

First, the location — it's on the second floor of a building right across from the sea near Marine City in Haeundae, Busan, so you get a wide-open ocean view while you eat.

The interior is a whopping 100 pyeong (about 330 m²) or so, and there are private room seats too, so it's great for family meals or group gatherings! 😳

The restroom is on the same floor, right outside the restaurant, with separate men's and women's sections. No passcode needed, and it was clean and comfortable to use.
What comes with the table: banchan and basic setting

Here's the basic table setting at Bueokgan near Marine City, Haeundae. For banchan, they gave us jjasai (pickled mustard tuber) and danmuji (pickled radish).
How is the BUUK jjajangmyeon at Bueokgan Chinese?

The first dish to arrive was the jjajangmyeon, topped with a nicely cooked boiled egg and cucumber. There was a generous portion of noodles, but also plenty of sauce, so we could even mix in some rice with it.

The jjajangmyeon had a sweet-yet-savory flavor, and the noodles were thicker than typical jjajangmyeon noodles — not heavy at all, actually more clingy and satisfying to eat.
Woo-samgyeop beef jjamppong: how spicy is the broth?

The second dish we ordered at this recommended Chinese restaurant near Marine City in Haeundae, Busan was the woo-samgyeop beef jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup with beef), and the meat portion was generous — most of all, the broth looked really rich! 😚

Honestly, I'm someone who likes broth-based dishes at Chinese restaurants, so I tend to order jjamppong more often.

Sometimes when the broth looks completely orange, it doesn't taste that great — but here it was a deep red color, and interestingly, it wasn't very spicy either.

The noodles looked like thin udon noodles, plump and chewy, and they went really well with the broth.
Jalapeño cream shrimp, the dish that stayed crisp

From the cooked-dish menu at Bueokgan near Marine City, Haeundae, we ordered the jalapeño cream shrimp.

The lettuce underneath went really well with the shrimp sauce.

The outer batter was thick and had a firm crunch, and it didn't go soggy even coated in sauce.

The sauce — like sweet condensed milk meeting oily, creamy mayonnaise — was the real kick, and it made me even more excited to try the other cooked dishes!

That wraps up all the details on Bueokgan, a great restaurant near Marine City in Haeundae.
