Sinbu-dong Cheonan café vanilla flan air fryer reheat: Brewers Coffee

In short

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is a dessert café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan that sells a wide range of baked treats such as financiers, madeleines and canelés. On a weekday afternoon the writer took out iced apple tea (6,000 won), an apple Earl Grey financier (3,500 won), a salted choco chip madeleine (3,600 won), a crème brûlée madeleine (3,600 won) and a vanilla flan (5,100 won), then reheated the baked goods in an air fryer at home. Eating the vanilla flan between bites of the baked treats changed the texture, which made it easy to work through several kinds at once.

Today I visited a café I'd recommend in Cheonan — Brewers Coffee. It's located in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, and apparently it's super popular lately. I heard they sell a wide variety of baked treats and great coffee, so I went right over haha.

Here's the exterior. There's an outdoor terrace seating area, so on cool days like these it seems really nice to sit outside and enjoy coffee and dessert haha.

There's even a four-cut photo booth installed, so you can take photos too haha. Looks like a lot of people come here on dates, and honestly getting delicious desserts, a cup of coffee, and photos all in one place would make a perfect Cheonan date course.

By the way, you can also register for the waitlist through Catch Table! I visited on a weekday afternoon so luckily there was no wait.

Inside Brewers Coffee: nearly full even on a weekday afternoon

Here's the interior. It has an overall modern yet warm atmosphere, and even though it was a weekday afternoon, it was almost completely full. This place is genuinely popular lol. There were tons of young customers haha.

The interior is built around wood and black tones, with vintage touches scattered here and there, giving it a clean but not too cold feeling. Very Instagram-worthy. It kind of reminded me of a Seongsu café lol.

What baked treats and gift boxes does Brewers Coffee sell?

What really caught my eye at Brewers Coffee was, of course, the desserts 🤩. From financiers to madeleines to canelés, there was such a wide variety of baked treats that it was hard to decide what to pick.

Honestly there wasn't a single dessert that didn't look delicious ㅠ. If you love desserts, you really have to visit. The prices aren't too high either, so it seems like a good option for gifts too.

By the way, they also have gift box sets like this, so if you're looking for a Cheonan gift, wrapping one of these up might be a great idea haha.

The takeout order and prices at Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch

Here's the menu board of Brewers Coffee, a recommended Cheonan café. I ordered for takeout — iced apple tea (₩6,000), apple Earl Grey financier (₩3,500), salted choco chip madeleine (₩3,600), vanilla flan (₩5,100), and crème brûlée madeleine (₩3,600)!

The staff packaged everything carefully, so I could just carry it straight home.

Iced apple tea, 6,000 won

The iced apple tea isn't sweet at all — it's tangy and refreshing, which pairs really well with sweet desserts. Drinking it iced gave it a cool, clean feel, and the subtle apple aroma didn't overpower the sweetness of the desserts. Taking a bite of financier or madeleine and then a sip of apple tea cleaned up the lingering sweetness in my mouth really nicely haha.

How to reheat the baked treats in an air fryer at home

Here are the delicious desserts I brought home haha. I packed a bunch of different kinds, so it was also fun taking them out one by one.

The visuals are just insane!!

Warming them slightly in the air fryer makes them taste even better. If you're eating these at home, definitely give them a quick toast in the air fryer haha.

Takeout desserts arranged on a plate

Apple Earl Grey financier, 3,500 won

First up is the apple Earl Grey financier. It has that small, plump shape financiers are known for, with a golden-baked exterior 💗

Cross-section of the apple Earl Grey financier

One bite and the outside is slightly chewy while the inside stays moist and soft, and the crumble topping is crispy — genuinely delicious. Add in the subtle sweetness of apple and the fragrant scent of Earl Grey, and it's amazing! If you like crispy-outside, soft-inside style baked goods, I recommend this one.

Salted choco chip madeleine

Salted choco chip madeleine, 3,600 won

This is the salted choco chip madeleine, with the plump, soft shape typical of madeleines and choco chips studded throughout — there's no way this isn't delicious 🤤

Cross-section of madeleine studded with choco chips

With the first bite you get that fluffy, moist texture madeleines are known for, and as you chew into the choco chips, rich chocolate flavor comes through. The choco chip bits have a different texture from the soft madeleine, so there's fun variation as you eat. It's on the sweeter side, so it pairs perfectly with an americano.

Crème brûlée madeleine

Crème brûlée madeleine, 3,600 won

This is the crème brûlée madeleine, which has that sweet crème brûlée touch added on top of a regular madeleine, so it looks a bit special from the start. The outside is baked golden brown like any good baked treat, while the inside still had that fluffy, moist madeleine texture.

Bitten cross-section of crème brûlée madeleine

With the rich, sweet flavor unique to crème brûlée added in, it felt noticeably more dessert-like than eating a plain madeleine. Especially with the soft madeleine combined with that sweet cream flavor, it would go great with coffee or tea haha.

Vanilla flan with a smooth surface

Vanilla flan, 5,100 won

Personally, the one I was most curious about visually was the vanilla flan. The smooth, firm surface typical of flan was striking, and cutting into it revealed a soft, moist, pudding-like texture inside 😋. With one bite it melted softly in my mouth, with a subtle vanilla aroma spreading out along with a sweet, soft flavor — it wasn't too light, but not too heavy either. If you keep eating only baked goods it can start to feel a bit dry, but mixing in the flan changed up the texture, making it easier to enjoy several kinds of dessert together haha.
