In short
Jojomomo is a Korean bar in Songpa, Seoul, serving traditional drinks alongside inventive Korean dishes. On a Sunday night, I tried its welcome rice wine, cream tteokbokki, scallops, sea snails, and corn ice cream. Verdict: a fun pick for distinctive Korean bar food and a cute, hip atmosphere.

I visited Jojomomo, right on the main street of Bangi Food Alley :) It’s a Korean bar where you can enjoy a range of Korean dishes with traditional drinks, so it was also a great spot for a casual drink.

Jojomomo is on the main street of Bangi Food Alley. Cute, hip posters were up from the entrance onward, so it already felt like it would be a fun place before I even stepped inside, haha. The door especially had a bit of a Harry Potter attic feel, which made me weirdly excited the moment I opened it!

I arrived around 9 p.m. on a Sunday, and there were honestly far more people than I expected. It was almost full, and I heard there can be a wait during peak hours on Fridays and Saturdays. If you’re planning a visit, it may be a good idea to reserve ahead through Tabling or Naver Reservation :)

Traditional drinks and Korean bar-food menu
Along with regular soju and beer, Jojomomo sells a wide selection of traditional Korean alcohol, including dongdongju (unfiltered rice wine), cheongju (clear rice wine), yakju (refined rice wine), fruit wines, and distilled spirits. There are so many drinks that pair well with Korean bar food, so drink lovers will probably have fun choosing from the menu!

The menu was made up of varied Korean dining dishes that go nicely with traditional drinks. I had originally wanted to order the signature boiled pork short ribs, but it’s a limited-quantity item and was sold out by the time I arrived late ㅠㅠ So that day I ordered cream tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and gamtae steamed scallops for ₩27,000, sea snails with thin noodles and flat dumplings for ₩22,000, and a 500 ml Cass draft beer for ₩5,000!

They’re also running an event where you get one complimentary bottle of soju or beer when you write a Naver receipt review, so keep that in mind!

The complimentary snack and welcome drink
While we waited after ordering, the complimentary snack came out first. It was crackers with truffle potato salad, plus a glass of Jirisan Gangsoeju as the welcome drink! It was my first time trying Jirisan Gangsoeju, and it wasn’t overly sweet—it tasted clean and was so much better than I expected.. ♥

I put the truffle potato salad on a cracker, and it was smooth and nutty, perfect for picking at one by one. The complimentary snack was good from the start, so I was already excited for the food to come out,, haha.

Cream tteokbokki and gamtae steamed scallops
Today’s main dish has arrived—

Cream tteokbokki and gamtae steamed scallops. From the name, it sounds like cream tteokbokki, but it’s actually a steamed dish of scallops and rice cakes simmered in a rich cream sauce, served with gamtae (sweet seaweed) and nurungji (crispy scorched rice).

The small shell-shaped rice cakes were easy to eat in one bite. The cream sauce could have been heavy, but a spicy chili aroma cut through the richness completely, making the sauce itself really delicious, haha. Crispy nurungji gave it a great texture, and the umami from the scallops and gamtae made this combination work much better than I expected!
When I eat pasta, I usually don’t touch the side bread because I don’t want to fill up on nothing,,???? But this bread, which at first glance looks a little like Outback’s Bushman Bread, had a faint chocolate-like or roasty aroma and was crisp outside, soft inside. Dipping it in the sauce was insanely good,, (Actually, it’s even better if you soak it rather than just dip it,,)

Sea snails with thin noodles and flat dumplings
I was craving something spicy, so I ordered the sea snails with thin noodles and flat dumplings as well! This dish pairs nutty Gyeongsang-style flat dumplings with sweet-and-spicy dressed sea snails.

The dressed sea snails came piled on top of the flat dumplings, with the thin noodles served separately. The crisp, nutty dumplings went really well with the tangy, spicy sea snails, making it a great drinking snack. Since we had one creamy dish, I was glad we also ordered something spicy and light, haha.

Corn ice cream and a small thoughtful touch
For dessert, I was craving something sweet, so I ordered the corn ice cream. Vanilla ice cream comes topped with corn, cornflakes, and powdered sugar. The corn flavor with the smooth ice cream worked better than I expected. It was sweet and perfect for finishing up, so we ended up devouring it in no time!

There was a unisex restroom near the entrance, and when we paid, the owner even gave us disposable mouthwash. Little touches like that are quietly so nice ㅎ.ㅎ
Jojomomo was a Bangi Food Alley bar I really liked, from its Korean bar food that pairs well with traditional drinks to its cute, hip atmosphere! And while eating, I kept thinking the owner is seriously committed to the food, haha. Rather than typical bar snacks, the combinations felt like they were put together by someone who really knows good food, so I’m already excited about what I’ll try next time :) If you’re looking in Bangi-dong for a bar with a good vibe, or a slightly different Korean dining bar rather than ordinary snacks, Jojomomo is definitely worth stopping by :)
