I really, really love pastries with those crisp, layered textures haha

Hunting down proper bakeries is one of my little happinesses, and I heard 'Stack' café near Ttukseom Station in Jayang-dong makes pastries and desserts really well!

A bread lover like me just couldn't walk past that, so I ran straight over haha
Outdoor terrace and the café atmosphere
When I arrived, I noticed the outdoor seating was set up really neatly.

With weather this nice these days, sitting out on the terrace in the warm sun with a coffee seemed like it would be so healing!

Walking inside, the cozy yet sleek interior caught my eye right away.

There's a real variety of seating too, from solo spots to large tables, so it's a great place to settle in whether you come alone or with friends!

The window seats with the floor-to-ceiling glass were especially full of atmosphere, so I grabbed a spot right there.

What's the restroom like?
And one really important thing when café-hopping is the restroom, haha

Stack has a restroom inside the store, and it's really well maintained — super clean and pleasant. Little details like this made me like the place even more!

The bread showcase and what I ordered
After settling in, I finally headed to the bread showcase I'd been waiting for, and the visuals alone had my eyes popping haha

There was such a variety, from my beloved kouign-amann to croissants, that I had the happy problem of deciding what to eat. I'd come all this way, so I couldn't just pick one — I grabbed a bunch of what I wanted haha

What I ordered were these four: coconut latte, plain croissant, plain kouign-amann, and apple cinnamon pastry!

Once everything arrived, I sat by the window and started eating while looking out at the view — honestly, this was a moment of happiness I'll never forget T.T

Tasting the kouign-amann, croissant, and apple cinnamon pastry
First I tried the plain kouign-amann, the croissant, and the apple cinnamon pastry one by one... and wow, all I could say was 'amazing' haha

The moment I bit in, sweetness melted in my mouth along with a crisp texture with layers that stayed alive — it was seriously insane!

That signature buttery pastry flavor, crisp outside and moist inside — a textbook example of crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside — really came through in the texture. The plain croissant had this luxurious buttery aroma that got more savory the more I chewed, so I could enjoy it to the last bite without getting tired of it, and the apple cinnamon pastry, with its subtle cinnamon scent and sweet apple jam, was totally my type!

The coconut latte and pastry combo
Even looking back at these photos while writing this, my mouth is watering all over again haha. And the coconut latte I ordered alongside it was a total cheat code!

With coconut in the latte, that distinct mellow, nutty coconut aroma comes through, and it kept the dessert flavors — which can easily turn too sweet or heavy — clean and rounded out.

Take a bite of the sweet pastry, then a sip of the coconut latte — total heaven combo, haha. Honestly, some cafés these days have pretty vibes but the bakery itself falls short haha, but with Stack, I could tell they take dessert seriously from the very first bite! Crisp and crumbly on the outside, with a chewy tear-apart quality in the layers inside — it was truly a work of art!

Pairing the delicious pastries with the nutty, fragrant coconut latte made all my stress melt away! The sunlight coming in through the window was great too, so my photos came out really well haha. Next time I want to come back with all my friends and clear out every other type of bakery dessert I didn't get to try today!!
