In short

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor near Exit 2 of Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul, where every plate costs ₩1,990. On a Saturday evening date, the writer and their partner refilled on vinegared shrimp, soy sauce shrimp, grilled prawn, and flying fish roe gunkan before finishing with cream puffs, cake, and pineapple for dessert, ending up with 26 plates between the two of them. A great pick when you want to eat well and cheaply until you're stuffed.

Today, after work on a Saturday, I went with my partner to Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station to eat sushi, which they love. It looked like good value and a nice spot for a lunch date, so here's my honest review!

It was easy to find just a short walk from Exit 2 of Seolleung Station. We were so hungry that day, we wanted to hurry up and get to the sushi.

An interior good for solo diners and groups alike

Inside there's bar seating as well as group tables, so it looked comfortable whether you're eating alone or coming with family or friends.

✅️ Conveyor-belt sushi spots are often cramped, making it awkward to store your bag or coat, but here there were separate hangers and racks, so I could put my bag and coat away comfortably.

There were also lots of fancy-looking sushi plates.✨️

Elaborately topped conveyor-belt sushi menu items

What was unusual was that they even had tonkotsu ramen. First time I'd seen that on a conveyor-belt sushi menu, haha.

✅️ They said they give out 1 sushi plate or 1 canned drink for a Naver review, so it seems worth taking part in.

From soup to sushi — what we ate

Warm soup is a must at a conveyor-belt sushi place. Having a warm cup of it really settled my stomach, and I loved it, haha.

Pickled radish, pickled ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi set on the table

With pickled radish, pickled ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi all neatly set out, my eyes darted around trying to decide which sushi to eat first.

Vinegared shrimp, soy sauce shrimp sushi

My favorite, vinegared shrimp! Classic sushi really is the best. Dipped into the soy-wasabi sauce, it was as delicious as ever.👍🏻 The soy sauce shrimp had a firm, springy texture and paired really well with the salty soy flavor.🩷

This was my first time trying grilled prawn sushi — the shrimp was huge and the sauce was sweet, so it was really tasty. The other seasoned shrimp sushi were also springy and paired well with their seasonings, so I enjoyed them all.🥰

Raw fish with aged kimchi, scallop, octopus wasabi, and flounder sushi

The raw fish with aged kimchi paired the chewy raw fish nicely with the tangy aged kimchi. And flounder is a classic, of course! Since it's my favorite sushi, my chopsticks kept going back for more.

Flying fish roe gunkan is a sushi I really, really love! With the roe popping in your mouth and the soy-wasabi sauce added on top, it was pure happiness, haha. It was so good I refilled it several times! Everything else we tried was delicious overall, so we were very satisfied.☺️🫶🏻

Scallop and flying fish roe sushi

This one was my partner's pick — they said the chewy scallop and the popping flying fish roe made for a great combination of textures.

Cream puff chosen for dessert

Dessert: cream puff, cake, and pineapple

After finishing all that sushi, I naturally craved something sweet. The cream puff and cake filled that craving nicely.

Plate of pineapple eaten to finish the meal

We finished with fresh, refreshing pineapple for a clean ending. Sweet yet tangy, it was the perfect dessert.
